A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENT OF THE CITY
COUNCIL TO ESTABLISH A YOUTH CENTER.
WHEREAS, an informal group of Youth and Adults have determined
that a Youth Center is needed and would be valuable to a substantial
segment of the population of the Community; and
WHEREAS, such a Youth Center could provide both formal and informal
programs and activities; including crafts, recreation, canteen and coun-
selling services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been asked to indicate its receptiveness
to establishment of such a center, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO HEREBY
RESOLVE:
Section 1. That the City Council does recognize that there is a need
in the comm n ty for expanded programs and activities of value to youth
and young adults.
Section 2. That the City Council agrees to work with a formal non-
profit corporation, when created, for the purpose to establish a Youth
Center in the community.
Section 3. That the City will consider the leasing of the former
Pasco -`Pu c i rary Building at Fourth and Bonneville for such a center.
Section 4. That the City will consider the use of public funds to
the extent available to supplement funds that the said corporation hopes to
secure for the initial cost and the subsequent operation and maintenance of
the Youth Center, together with programs and activities to be conducted
therein.
