A RESOLUTION supporting the Youth Coordinator Pro-
gram and authorizing the Mayor to sign the joint appli-
cation for Federal Funds.
WHEREAS, there is a need for coordination of efforts on behalf of our youth
on a Tri -City wide basis; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for additional help for underprivileged youth in
the areas of employment, education, training, recreation and self-expression; and
WHEREAS, Federal Funds are available for a Youth Coordinator on a Tri -City
wide basis under the 1970 Youth Opportunity Program Development Grant; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary, as a prerequisite to obtaining Federal Funds for
the Youth Opportunity Program, that a joint application be signed by the Mayors of all
of the Tri -Cities; and
WHEREAS, the aiding of our youth is a goal which the City should make
every effort to accomplish; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor be and hereby is authorized to sign the joint appli-
cation for funding of the position of Youth Coordinator for the Tri -Cities.
by law.
Section 2. This Resolution will be in effect after its passage as required
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor at a regular meet-
ing on the day of 1970.
