HomeMy WebLinkAbout0808 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 808 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS. BETTY WINSHIP , A PASCO CITIZEN, FOR HER ASSIST- ANCE TO THE PASCO POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, law enforcement agencies are as effective as the public demands that they be; and WHEREAS, the Pasco Police Department, like all other law enforcement agencies, has requested the public to assist them in any way possible to make their community a safe place in which to live; and WHEREAS, in our modern society it often seems that people have the attitude that they "do not wish to become involved"; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Betty Winship, a Pasco Citizen, did recently assist the Pasco Police Department through her alertness and her interest in good law en- forcement; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Mrs. Betty Winship, a Pasco Citizen, be commended for her recent assistance to the Pasco Police Department. Her alertness in observ- ing unusual activity around a business establishment, and her reporting of this activity, is an example of good citizenship in its highest measure. Section 2. That the Pasco Police Department and the City Council formally thank Mrs. Betty Winship on behalf of the residents of the City of Pasco for her alertness, courage and interest which enabled the Pasco Police Department to apprehend felony suspects who have been charged with the crime of burglary. Section 3. The City Council urges all citizens who are interested in good law enforcement to follow the lead of Mrs. Winship and assist the Police De- partment in any way possible. Section 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage as required by law. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law, this ,;9 day of January, 1970. G. E.
