A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE FEDERAL
WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ADMINISTRATION, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,
FOR A GRANT UNDER 33 U.S.C. 466 et. seq.
WHEREAS, The City of Pasco, after due consideration of the various aspects
of the problem and study of available data, is hereby determined that the construction
of certain public works, generally described.as improvements and additions to the
sewage treatment facility, and
WHEREAS, It is desirable and in the public interest that action be taken
immediately, and
WHEREAS, It is under the terms of 33..U.S.C. 466 et. seq., the United States
.of America has authorized a making of funds available to public bodies to aid in
financing the cost of engineering, designs, plans, working drawings, specifications, and/or
other action in preparation for, and the construction of public works, and
WHEREAS, The applicant has examined and duly considered such act and the'applicant
considers it to be in the public interest and to its benefit to file an,application under
said act, and to authorize other action in connection -therewith; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON
Section 1. That the construction of said public works is essential to and is to
the best interests of the applicant, and to the end that such public works may be provided
as promptly as practicable, it is desirable that action be undertaken immediately;
Section 2. That the City Manager be authorized to file on -behalf of the
applicant, an application (in form required by the United States and in conformity with
said act) for funds, to be made by the United States to,_the applicant'to*aid in financing
,the cost of construction for the above described public works. It shall consist generally
of:
Improvements and Additions to
Sewage Treatment Facilities
Section 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to furn1sh
such information and to take such action as maybe necessary to enable the applicant to
qualify for the grant.
'Section 4. That the City Manager is hereby -designated as the authorized
representative of the applicant for the purpose of furnishing to the United States, such
information, data, and documents pertaining to the application for funds as may be required;
and otherwise, to act as the authorized representative of the applicant in'connection with
this application.
Section 5.That certified copies of this Resolution be included as part of the
application for grant to be submitted to the United States.
Section 6. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its
passage as required by law.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law this 1st day of
April, 1969.
