HomeMy WebLinkAbout0703 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 7 A RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING THE POSITION OF THE PASCO CITY COUNCIL AS TO THE PROPOSED ROUTE OF INTER -STATE HIGHWAY NO. 82. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pasco wishes to reaffirm its staunch support of the recommendations by the Consulting Engineers that Inter -State Highway No. 82 be routed through the Tri -Cities and Western Walla Walla County; and WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Pasco wishes to reaffirm its position that this must be an engineering determination, and wishes to concur with the findings in the recent engineering study; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Pasco is solidly behind this engineering determination for the proposed route, and that all parties be assured of our continued support and availability to aid further in the develop- ment "of Inter -State Highway No. 82.. Section 2. That we recommend that all Southeastern Washington and particularly the Tri -City area unite solidly behind this engineering determina- tion and prepare a statement of testimony in support of the Engineer's recom- mendations at the forthcoming meeting to be held in February, 1967. Section 3. That copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the follow- ing individuals: Senator Mike McCormack; Representative Dan Jolly; Repre- sentative Doris Johnson; Representative Walt Reese; Senator Damon R. Canfield; Mr. Elmer Huntley, Chairman of the State Highway Commission and Mr. Charles L. Prahl, Director of the State Department of Highways. Section 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage as required by law. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law, this 17 day of January 1967. . E.
