RESOLUTION NO. 635 -
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR LONGEVITY PAY FOR CIVIL SERVICE
EMPLOYEES AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 525..
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Terms used in this Resolution shall have the meaning .given
to them in this Resolution:
a. Base pay refers to regular monthly salary only and does
not include any amounts paid for longevity, for overtime, for clothing
allowances, or for any extra benefits of any kind whatsoever.
b. Employee means any policeman or fireman as defined in
R. C. W. 41. 08. 050 and 41. 12. 050.
C. Year, for the purpose of determining longevity pay, means
full employment for at least eleven months during a work year.
Section 2. The purpose of this Resolution is to induce employees
of the City of Pasco to remain in such employment and to compensate employees
for increased knowledge and efficiency by increasing their pay in proportion
to the time they have been employed by the City of Pasco. This Resolution
is intended to serve as a guide for making computations of longevity pay so
long and only so long as the City Council of the City of Pasco desires to
continuelongevity pay.
Section 3. Longevity pay shall be determined as follows:
a. For each year of service an employee shall receive longevity
pay at the rate of 116 of his base pay to a maximum of 20 years service
and 20%. Longevity pay shall be added to the employees base pay each
month following completion of the first year.
b. After an employee has completed one full year of employment
which shall entitle him to longevity pay the date of January 1 shall be
considered his anniversary date for purposes of determining longevity
pay thereafter.
Section 4. Resolution No. 525 is hereby repealed.
Section 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage
as required by law.
Section 6. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law
this 2nd, day of February, 1965.
