A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE STEAM LO-
COMOTIVE DONATED BY THE NORTHERN PA-
CIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY FOR PLACEMENT,
PROTECTION AND MAINTENANCE IN THE
VOLUNTEER PARK OF THE CITY OF PASCO.
WHEREAS, THE Northern Pacific Railway Company desires to
donate to the City of Pasco a steam locomotive to be placed
in the public park of the City of Pasco known as Volunteer
Park, and
WHEREAS, The City of Pasco desires to accept the steam lo-
comotive to be permanently displayed in the Volunteer Pub-
lic
ub-
1is Park;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Pasco,
does accept the steam locomotive donated by the Northern
Pacific Railway Company under the following conditions:
1. Arrangements will have to be made for the placement,
protection and maintenance of the locomotive in a
public park maintained by the City and the City
will have to construct a cyclone -type of fence
around the locomotive in order to avoid injury or
vandalism. The City will also have to agree to
keep the locomotive appropriately painted so
that a neat and clean appearance will be main-
tained.
2. The City will have to assume the cost of moving
the locomotive from the nearest track to the
exhibition site.
3. No locomotive will be permanently displayed on
Northern Pacific owned or maintained property.
PASSED by the City'Council and APPROVED by the Mayor
this 3rd day of July, 1956.
