HomeMy WebLinkAbout0368 Resolutioni RESOLUTION NO A RESOLUTION (AMENDING, RESOLUTION NO., 129 CREATING A CITY PLANNING COMMISSION. WHEIt.EAS, the City Planning Commision of the City of Pasco is now composed of seven (7). merribers, two of whom, the Mayor and City Attorney; are ex,officio members, and WHEREAS, itis deemed advisable to. replace the City Attorney,. as ex officio, member, with another appointed -member, NOW, THEREFORE, - THE. CITY COUNCIL -OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS,FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to the authority conferred by the Chapter 44 of the Session Laws of 1935 of the State of Washington, there is hereby created a City Planning Commis-sion, consisting of seven (7) members who shall be selected as follows The Mayor shall be an exofficio member of the. Commission during the period of his incumbency in such office; the other six (6) members shall be .appointed by -the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Section.2. The term of office- of the six (6) members appointed by the Mayor, shall be six years. The five appointed members of the City Planning Commission now holding office shall continue in said office as if - this Resolution were- not amended. ' The term of the newly appointed member. shall end on the 7th day of April, 1957; the term of the newly appointed member shall. be, fixed and designated by the -Mayor at the time of such appointment. Section 3. Vacanciesoccurring otherwise than through the ex- piration of terms shall be filled for the unexpired terms. Members may be removed, after public hearing by the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, for inefficiency, neglect of duty. or malfeasance in office. The members shall be selected without respect. to political affiliations, and they shall serve without compensation. Section.4. The Planning Commission shall have all the powers and perform each and all of. the duties specified by said Chapter 44 of the 1935Session Laws of the State of Washington, together with any of the other duties or authority which may hereafter be conferred upon them by the Laws of the .State of Washington, the performance of such duties and the exercise of such authority to be subject to each and'all the limitations ex-. . pressed in" such legislative enactment or enactments.
