HomeMy WebLinkAbout0301 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO.0 O BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pasco: That the council select three insurance agencies from those now participating in city insurance, and that each of such named agencies shall appoint one member from their respective agency to serve as a member of a City Insurance Board. The first terms of such board members shall be for one, two, and three years, with the terms for each member to be decided by lot between the members. Thereafter there shall be one member appointed by the Finance Committee of the Council, with concurrence and approval of the Council, each year for a three year term, and such appointment shall be from remaining members of participating insurance firms until each such agency as served on the Board, thereafter members will rotate in the order established; and in event new agencies are added to the participating list then such new agency will be placed at the end of the list -for appointment to'the Board and appointed in the order thereby established. It shall be the duty of the Board to survey the City insurance and insurance requirements from time to time and present results of such survey in writing to the City Council, with reccommendations, and it shall be within the power of the Council to accept or reject such reccommendations as might be made. It is understood that the city insurance shall be pro -rated to an approximate degree, among the participating agents, it being understood further that the adjustment of insurance to arrive at such a division of insurance will be taken care of upon renewal of expiring insurance or the addition of new insurance. The Board herein established will act through the Finance Committee of the City Council and all final actions of the Committee must be confirmed by the Council before being binding upon the City. Any additions to the participating list will be reccommended by the Finance Committee with approval of the -Council. By "participating agencies" is meant those firms or individuals now regularly established in the insurance business in the City of Pasco who now hold or have written policies now in force for the City of Pasco, and all those who subsequent to this time might come within this class. Nothing herein is to be construed as granting to any particular agency or agencies a contract right to any portion or portions of the city'd insurance, but is rather for the purpose of insuring to the city a continuing, competent, and economical insurance pngram. n PASSED BY THE COUNCIL THIS © ay of X d9_t,, 1949.
