1111EREA.S the United States Government, acting through
, the Army, Navy, and Lend -Lease Administration, has determined
to locate several national defense projects in and near Paseo
which will add thousands of persons to the population of Pasco
and vicinity and Whereas there will exist a hhortage of safe
and sanitary dwelling accomodations in the City of Pasco
available to persons of low income at rentals they can afford
and for those persons engaged in such defense activities, which
fact the City Council of the City of Pasco now finds, now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
Section 1 The Housing Authority of the City of Pasco
as provided for by the Legislature of the State of Washington in
Chapter 23 of the laws of 1939 as amended by Chapter 54 of the
Laws of 1941 is hereby created and authorized to transact business
and execute its powers thereunder, there being a need for such
authority to function in the City of Pasco
Section 2. The Mayor of the City of Pasco is hereby
authorized to appoint commissioners of said authority as provided
by law,
