RESOLUTION REGARDING PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF
COUNTY -OWNED PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City has in mind the acquisition of a number of
vacant lots lying close in to the business section of the City
for the purpose of improving and beautifying the same to be uti-
lized after so improved and beautified as municipally -owned and
operated parking lots for the parking thereon of motor vehicles
off the streets;
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Franklin County has acquired
at tax sale and is,the owner of a number of such lots, lying in
the following -named blocks of Northern Pacific Railroad Company's
Plat of the City. of Pasco, to -reit: Blocks 2, 3, 4, 13., 12, 22
and 23; AND WHEREAS, the City further intends to extend and improve
the swimming beach on the banks of the Columbia River, and it
appears that Franklin County is the owner of Lots 29, 30, 31, 32,
33 and 34 in River Block in Riverside Addition to Pasco, and Lots
11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 in Block 35, Riverside Addition to Pasco,
adjoining the present swimming beach, and it is desirable that the
City should acquire said above-named lots for the purpose of ex-
tending the swimming beach;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Pasco that the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County
be and are requested to cause all property owned by .Franklin County
in Blocks 2, 3, 4, 13, 12., 22 and 23 in Northern Pacific Railroad
Company's Plat of Pasco, Washington, and Lots 29, 30, 31, 32., 33
and 34 in River Block in Riverside Addition to Pasco, and Lots 11,
12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 in Block 35, Riverside Addition to Pasco,
to be appraised and offered for sale on such terms and conditions
as the Board of County Commissioners may fix, and the City Attorney
is authorized to contact the Board of Commissioners and arrange to
have such property offered for sale, and at the sale thereof, author-
ized to appear for and bid thereon on behalf of.the City for said lots.

The Board of County Commissioners is further requested to
have all the said lots offered for sale in one group, and the
Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute on behalf of the
City a. contract for the purchase of such lots;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the School Board of Franklin
County School District Number One be and are hereby requested to
grant to the City of Pasco a long-time lease on all property now
owned by the said school district in School Block Addition to the
City of Pasco,, to be by the City taken, beautified and improved
as a public parking place for motor vehicles in said city.
