AM� AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE AND ABOLISHING THE LIBRARY FUND BY'REPEALING SECTION 2.32.070 OF THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE, ABOLISHING THE PARK FUND BY REPEALING CHAPTER 3.20 OF THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND ABOLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 1, 1978. WHEREAS, the City of Pasco has heretofore maintained separate accounting funds known as the "Park Fund", "Recreation Fund" and "Library Fund", among others.not pertinent hereto, and WHEREAS, the major purpose of having separate funds such as those mentioned above was to separate monies that are restricted for specific purposes from those that are for general governmental use, and WHEREAS, because the City of Pasco has adopted a new accounting system that uses departmental numbers, which allows the city finance department to maintain accountability of all funds, including those appropriated to the various departments of the city, including the library and the parks and recreation department, is no longer necessary or desirable to maintain the separate library, park and recreation funds; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Library Fund and Section 2.32.070 of the Pasco Municipal Code be and the same are hereby abolished and repealed, respectively, and any unexpended funds remaining in this fund as of December 31, 1977, are hereby transferred to the general fund of the City of Pasco. Section 2. That the Park Fund and Chapter 3.20 of the Pasco Municipal.Code:_-be and the same are hereby abolished and repealed, respectively, and any unexpended funds remaining in the Park Fund as of December 31, 1977, shall be -and the same are hereby transferred to the general fund of the City of Pasco. Section 3. That the Recreation Fund and Chapter 3.24 of the Pasco Municipal Code be and the same are hereby abolished and repealed, respectively, and any unexpended funds remaining in the Recreation Fund as of December 31, 1977, shall be and are hereby transferred to the general fund of the City of Pasco. Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective on January 1, 1978. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this 21st day of November , 1977.
