AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO VOTING DISTRICTS AND AMENDING CHAPTER 1.10 OF THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING AND REENACTING SECTIONS 1.10.020, 1.10.030, 1.10.040, 1.10.050, AND 1.10.060 THEREOF. WHEREAS, Section 1.10.090 of the Pasco Municipal Code requires the Council of the City of Pasco to reestablish voting district boundaries whenever the number of registered voters in any district.exceeds by 250 or more the number of registered voters 'in any other district, and WHEREAS, the voting districts of the City of Pasco as defined by Sections 1..10.020 through and including 1.10.060 are out of balance and need to be reestablished pursuant to Section 1.10.090, and WHEREAS, balance between the voting districts as above referenced will be accomplished by moving precinct number seven of district two into district number one, and WHEREAS, Sections 1.10.020 through and including 1.10.060 contain detailed descriptions of all voting districts in the City of Pasco, which detailed descriptions are cumbersome and ever changing because of annexation, and because it is in the best interest of the City of Pasco to simply the descriptions of voting districts; THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Sections 1.10.020 through and including 1.10.060 be and the same are hereby repealed and reenacted to read as follows: 1.10.020 DISTRICT ONE. Voting district one shall .encompass the area within the City of.Pasco comprised of precinct numbers one, two, three, seven, nine, ten, and seventeen, as those precincts are described on the maps and property descriptions on file with the Auditor of Franklin County. 1.10.030 DISTRICT TWO. Voting district two shall encompass the area comprised of precinct numbers five, six, eleven, fourteen, twenty-six, and thirty-one, as those precincts are described by the maps and property descriptions on file with the Auditor of Franklin County. 1.10.040 DISTRICT THREE. Voting district three shall encompass the area comprised of precinct numbers eight, twelve, thirteen, fifteen, sixteen, twenty-five, and twenty-seven, as those precincts are described on the maps and property descriptions on file with the Auditor of Franklin County. 1.10.050 DISTRICT FOUR. Voting district four shall encompass the area comprised of precinct numbers eighteen, twenty, twenty-one, four, and twenty-eight, as those precincts are described on the maps and property descriptions on file with the Auditor of Franklin County. 1.10.060 DISTRICT FIVE. Voting district five shall encompass the area comprised of precinct numbers twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-nine, and thirty, as those precincts are described on the maps and property descriptions on file with the Auditor of Franklin County. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication as required by law. PASSED by the Council of the City of Pasco this 5th day of July 1977.
