HomeMy WebLinkAbout1855 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. 1855 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASCO ADOPTING THE 1976 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE WITH APPENDIXES A THROUGH C, TOGETHER WITH APPROPRIATE AMENDMENTS AND SUBSTITUTIONS THERETO BY ADDING A NEW CHAPTER TO THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTER 16.32 ENTITLED "MECHANICAL CODE", AND REPEALING CHAPTER 16.32 OF THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE AS IT NOW EXISTS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby added to the Pasco Municipal Code a new Chapter 16.32, entitled "Mechanical Code", which Chapter shall read as follows: Chapter 16.32 MECHANICAL CODE 16.32.010 Adoption of Uniform Mechanical Code. The Uniform Mechanical Code, 1976 Edition, with Appendixes A through c, prepared by.the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, is adopted by references as the mechanical code of the City of Pasco, except as hereinafter amended.. Three copies of the Uniform mechanical Code, 1976 Edition, with Appendixes A through C, have been filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the Pasco City Clerk. 16.32.020 BOARD OF APPEALS. Section 203 of the Uniform Mechanical Code is hereby deleted from the Uniform Mechanical Code and the Board of Appeals as set forth in Chapter 16.04.020 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby adopted in its place. 16.32.(130 PERMIT FEES. Section 304 of the Uniform Mechanical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 304 - Any person desiring a permit required by this code, shall, at the time of filing an application therefore, pay a fee as set forth in Chapter 16.04.040 of the Pasco Municipal Code. 16.32.0410 GAS PIPING MATE,?IALS.. Section 2212 of the Uniform Mechanical Code, Appendix B, shall be amended to read as follows: MATERIAL FOR GAS PIPING Section 2212 - All pipe used for the installation, extension, alteration, or repa-r of any gas piping shall be standard weight wrought iron or black steel, yellow brass (containing mor more than 75 percent copper), or internally tinned or equivalently treated copper of iron pipe size. All such pipe shall be either new, or shall previously have been used for no other purpose than conveying gas; it shall be in good condition and free from internal obstructions. Burred ends shall be reamed to the full bore of the pipe. Nothing contained in any provision of this code shall apply to an offense charged at any time before the day when this code shallbecome effective. Any such offense shall be punished according to the provisions of the ordinances or other laws existing when such offense was charged in the same manner as if this code had not been enacted. 16.32.060 SEVERABILITY. The invalidity of any article, section, subsection, provision, clause, or portion thereof, or the invalidity of the application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this chapter or the validity of its application to other persons or circumstances. Section 2. Ordinance No. 1644 and Chapter 16.32 of the Pasco Municipal Code as.it now exists is hereby repealed. Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect* after its passage and publication as required by law. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED.by the Mayor this. 3 day of May , 1977.
