AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3 AND 6 OF ORDINANCE 1637 (AND PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTERS 5.48.030 AND 5.48.060) BEING AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LICENSING THE BUSINESS OF SECURITY POLICE, MERCHANT PATROL AND PRIVATE DETECTIVE, FIXING LIABILITY FOR THEIR CONDUCT, DEFINING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES. PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REVISING THE FEES AND EXPIRATION DATE FOR PERMIT CARDS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1637, and Pasco Municipal Code Chapter 5.48.030, are hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3, PERMIT CARD. Every private detective, security police officer, merchant patrol officer shall, at all times, have in his possession a permit card in form approved by the chief of police, and such card shall have thereon, in addition to such other information and data as may be re- quired by the chief of police,theLlicensee's photograph, thumbprint and signature. Upon the revocation, suspension or expiration of any license, such permit card shall be surrendered to the chief of police. Every applicant for a license under this chapter shall submit to being finger- printed for a criminal record check. The chief of police may issue a temporary permit, not to exceed sixty days, to an applicant pending results of the criminal record check. Such temporary permit will only be issued after all fees have been paid. The regular permit shall be valid for one year from date of issue. Section 2. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1637, and Pasco Municipal Chapter 5.48.060, are hereby amended to read as follows: Section 6. LICENSE FEES. The license fee for security police agency, merchant patrol agency, private detective agency, security police officer, merchant patrol officer and private detective shall be and are fixed in the amounts shown in the following schedule, and shall be payable annually in advance. The license fee for any agency will permit one owner of that agency to be issued a permit card. Any person or agency involved in security police, merchant patrol and private detective shall only be re- quired topay the license fee for one business; such person or agency must, however, declare which permitted activities the agency will perform. Security police agency $50.00 per year Merchant patrol agency 50.00 per year. Private detective agency 50.00 per year Merchant patrol officer 10.00 per year Security police officer 10.00 per year Private detective 10.00 per year Security po.lice officer, merchant patrol officer and private detective license will only be issued to bona - fide employees of a security police, merchant patrol or private detective agency. Such license will not be transferable from one agency to another without the ex- press written consent of the original agency of issue. Section 3.
