SUBJECT: Water/Sewer Charges
Following the input at the Workshop Tuesday night, the Council ex-
pressed a desire to repeal the Ordinance requiring the water/sewer
and garbage billings to be in the name of the owner, vs. the prior
method of allowing the account to be in the tennants name. This
provision was one of several contained in Ordinance No. 1792.
Sections 1, 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 1792 refer to the required de-
posits. They increase the deposit by five dollars ($5.00), consoli-
dated the solid waste and water/sewer deposit and eliminated the
separate solid waste deposit fund.
Section 2 revised the wording of the "unauthorized turn-off" prohi-
bition, to make it possible to prosecute if the need should arise.
Section 3 merely corrected a Code reference error in the existing
Code .
Other possibilities of how to deal with the costs of account changes
and turn-on/turn-off have been explored and a report will be presented
at the next Workshop.
