Home My WebLink About1577 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. 1577 AN ORDINANCE LICENSING ARCADES AND SIMILAR PLACES OF AMUSEMENT AND ENTERTAINMENT MACHINES AND DECLARING CERTAIN ACTS TO BE UNLAWFUL. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All arcades and similar places as identified in Section 9 shall pay an annual (calendar year) license fee of $100.00. Section 2. Each entertainment machine operating in any arcade or similar place shall be licensed at a fee of $40.00 per machine per month. Section 3. For calendar year 1973, the license fees provided herein shall be pro- rated and credit shall be given for fees paid by those places subject to this license prior to the enactment of this Ordinance . Section 4. The license provided for herein shall be purchased in addition to any other licenses required for any business subject to the terms herein. Section 5. All persons engaged in an arcade business shall procure their annual G license to operate on or before the 2nd day of each and every January. The monthly entertainment machine fee shall be paid once each month on such payment schedule as shall be set up by the City Manager for the licensee.., Section 6. A late charge of 10% of the fee shall be added to each annual license not procured by March 1st of each and every year to help defray added administrative ex- penses because of such late payment. A like late charge of 10% per machine per month shall be added to any entertainment machine license not paid according to the schedule established by the City Manager. Section 7. The City shall have the power to institute suit or action in any court of competent jurisdiction for the purpose of collecting any license fees and late payment fees that are due and payable. Section 8. It shall be unlawful for any arcade (or portion of a business designated as an arcade) to permit or allow minors to loiter about the arcade, or to buy any of the materials offered for sale by the arcade, or to view any of the entertainment machines. Section 9. The current places of business in whole or in part are hereby declared subject to license under this Ordinance: Bookland Elmo's Book Exchange Pasco Arcade 329 West Lewis 118 North Fourth Ave. 321 West Lewis. Section 10. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage and publication as required by law. PASSES by the City Council and APPROVED this 6th day of March, 973 .
