HomeMy WebLinkAbout1506 OrdinanceTr Ordinance NO.. 150.6 2 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY IN THE 3 EQUIPMENT RENTAL FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE 4 ISSUANCE OF $ 14,000.00 IN EMERGENCY WARRANTS TO BE SOLD TO THE FIREMEN'SRELIEF 5 AND PENSION FUND, FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN AMBULANCE. 6 WHEREAS, when the Budgetfor the year 1,971 was made and 7 .adopted, 8 the City Council could not foresee the need for a new ambulance, and 9 WHEREAS, it is deemed ;that an emergency does exist relating to the 10 need for purchase of said ambulance, and .. 11 WHEREAS, this emergency is one other than those set forth in 12 R. CW 35.3'3.080, and 13 WHEREAS, the cost of said ambulance is $ 14,000..00 , and the 14 City does not have available funds and emergency warrants will be issued, 15 16 and 17' WHEREAS, 'the Firemen's ,Relief and Pension Board has advised the 18 City Council that the Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund wishes to purchase 19 said warrants as an investment upon the terms and conditions set forth in this 20 ordinance, -21 NOW, THEREFORE, 22 23 THE CITY CQUN.CIL OF THE' CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS 24 FOLLOWS: 25 Section 1. Said. warrants shall bear interest at the rate of six and one-half (6-1/2%) percent, per annum on the declining balance, commencing from date of issuance, and shall be sold to the Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund. Section 3. The warrants shall be paid in three equal annual installments, plus interest, commencing on or before December 31, 1972, and continuing on or before the 31st day, of December of each year thereafter. Payments may be made monthly, if desired, by the City. Section 4. The City Council shall budget a sum sufficient in each year hereafter in the equipment rental fund to "satisfy said warrants and, interest, as provided in Section 3.. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage as required by law. Re: Ordinance - Ambulance Purchase, Dear Harry: October 26, 1971 Enclosed please find proposed ordinance relating to issuance of emergency warrants for purchase of an ambulance: Since the purchase of this ambulance is not an emergency identified in RCW 35. 33.080, the emergency 'procedure 'provided in 35.. 33. 090 must be followed. This means that the city must publish a copy of the proposed' ordinance at• least once prior to the meeting at which the ordinance will be presented to the City Council for adoption. The proposed ordinance will have to be introduced at the first meeting in November and voted upon at the second meeting in November. Between those two meetings the publication should b'e made.
