AN -ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1123,
AND ADDING A NEW SECTION TO BE SECTION 8 TO ,ORDINANCE NO. 1123
AND BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TEMPORARY REGISTRATION
FACILITIES, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY REGISTRARS
AND INSTRUCTION IN REGISTRATION PROCEDURE AND PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR. FRAUDULENTLY REGISTERING UNQUALIFIED PERSONS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1 of' Ordinance No. 1123 is hereby amended to read
as follows: -
Section 1. There is hereby established temporary registration
facilities at the Franklin County Courthouse and the Masonic Temple, 1718 West
Sylvester, Pasco, Franklin County, Washington, during the fifteen -day period,
excepting Sundays, prior to the last day to register in order to be eligible to
vote at a State Primary Election or municipal primary election, and during the
fifteen -day period, excepting Sundays, prior to the last day to register in order
to be eligible to vote at a State general election, or municipal general election.
The City Clerk may also establish additional temporary registration facilities
other than those named above if such are necessary, and shall submit the number
of such additional facilities and their location to the City Council for approval at
a regularly scheduled Council meeting prior to the date such additional facilities
are to be operated. Temporary_ registration facilities shall be open from
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm. and from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday
or at such other times as the City Clerk shall designate and shall be manned
by no less than two deputy registrars to be selected by the City Clerk from the
registered voters of the City of Pasco
