AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LOADING AND UNLOADING ZONES WITHIN THE
"CITY OF PASCO AND AMENDING PASCO CITY CODE 8-36.04 AND 8-36.08 AND
SECTIONS 78 and 79 of ORDINANCE 1024.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 78 of Ordinance 1024 ,(Pasco City Code 8-36. 04)
is hereby".amended to read as follsows•
City_. Engineer to Designate Curb Loading Zones. The City
Engineer is hereby authorized to determine the ,location of"passenger and freight
curb loading zones. These loading 'zones shall be marked by one, sign which shall
read, "LOADING ZONE --NO PARKING"; and the curb area shall be painted ye-11ow
for the entire length of the designated loading zone. Any area marked in the manner
prescribed in this Section shall be used for no other purpose than loading or unloading
during the entire 24 hours of each day. No person shall be granted the right, use,
or franchise for vehicle parking of any portion of the surface area of any public
highway to the exclusion of any other like person
Section 2. Section 79 of Ordinance 1024 (Pasco City Code 8-36. 08)
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Permits for Curb Loading Zones: A. GENERAL. The City
Engineer shall not hereafter designate or sign any curb loading zone upon special
request of any person unless such person makes application for a permit for such
zones and for one sign to indicate each such zone. Provided, however, that no
permit issued hereunder shall be exclusive. The City Engineer, upon granting a
permit and issuing such signs, shall collect from the applicant and deposit in the
City Treasury a service fee of fifty 'dollars per year or fraction thereof and may
by general regulations impose conditions upon the use of such sign and for reim-
bursement of the City for the value thereof in the event of their loss or damage and
their return in the event of misuse or upon expiration of permit. Every such per-
mit shall expire at the end of one year.
B,: THEATRES','' Permits for curb loading zones in front of
theatres shall be issued by the City Engineer subject to the approval of the police
committee of the City of Pascoand shall be properly signed and,Lir curb painted
yellow. It shall be unlawful'to park any vehicle in front of any theatre in the City
of Pasco at any time when said threatre is open to the public.
Section 3. This amendment shall be in full force and effect
after its passage and publication as required by law.
