HomeMy WebLinkAbout0949 OrdinanceORDINANCE N0 AN ORDINANCE PLACING THE CONTROL OF PARKING METERS UNDER THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, ABOLISHING THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PARKING METERS., AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE PARKING METER DEPARTMENT TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The care, keep, maintenance of, and purchasing of parking meters and the collection of moneys from the meters and the general handling of parking meters shall be a function of the Police Department. Coins shall be collected at least once a week and immediately after such collection shall be turned over to the City Treasurer. Section. 2. The office of the Superintendent of Parking Meters and a separate Parking Meter Department are hereby abolished. Section 3. All remaining funds and appropriations under the Parking Meter Department in Ordinance No. 944 shall be transferred to the Police Department. Section 4. Ordinance No. 594, Pasco City Code 1-15. 04, 1-15. 08, 1-15.12 and 1-20.12 (2) and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 5. That the office.of Superintendent of Parkin:; deters is hereby created and.,there..shall be appointed a Superintendent of Parking Meters, whose duties it shall be to install such parking meters as maybe purchased by the City of Pasco, keep all parking meters in repair, collect the money or coins therefrom and turn the same over to the City Treasurer to be placed in the general fund of the City of Pasco; to make regular rounds or trips of ifispection'to see that the parking meters are being properly used and in a good state of repair,, with full power to issue tickets of arrest where violations of parking regulations are -found* He shall collect the money or coins at least,&!O� 411L and -immediately after finishing such collections turn the money over to the City Treasurer. Section 3.
