AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CHARGES AT CITY
VIEW CEMETERY, .REGULATING SUNDAY AND MONDAY
MORNING FUNERALS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 890 AND PASCO CITY CODE 4:-1. 50,AND REPEALING
SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 573 AND PASCO CITY CODE
4-1.52, AND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 903 AND PASCO
CITY CODE :4-1.44.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIO<N 1. Classification - basis for charges.
Charges for graves shall be classified as follows:
Baby: All burials for a person under three years of age.
Juvenile: All burials for a person from three to ten years
of age, inclusive.
Adult: All burials for a person over 10 years. of age.
SECTION 2.. Cemetery Lots -- charges.
The cost of all graves. shall include endowment care and shall be
as. follows:
Baby Graves. - $30. 00
Juvenile Graves - $50. 00
Adult Graves - $85.00
SECTION 3. Cemetery Lots payment.
All graves sold must be paid for in cash either at the time the said
grave plot is sold or before. the same is opened; provided, however,, upon
application made to the Superintendent of the Cemetery, graves may be
sold on time, not exceeding eighteen. months, provided that. the purchaser
thereof shall give a note therefore, payable to the City of Pasco, and
running for a period of not more than eighteen months, with sureties
to be approved by the Superintendent of the Cemetery. Such note at the
time of the sale and the execution thereof shall be filed with the City
Treasurer for collection.
SECTION 4. Opening and closing of graves. charges.
All graves must be opened and closed by the cemetery superintendent
or under his immediate supervision. The. charges for opening and closing
shall be as follows:
Baby Graves - $,5. 00
Juvenile Graves - $10. 00
Adult Graves..- $40.00
SECTION 5. Concrete boxes or vaults - charges.
A concrete box, concrete vault, or its- equivalent, must be provided
in each grave before any interment is made therein, except baby graves;
the cemetery superintendent will determine what is equivalent to a concrete
box or concrete vault and hisdetermination. shall be final. Concrete

boxes and concrete vaults shall be: provided by the cemetery superintendent
or someone acting under his immediate supervision.. The charges for
concrete boxes. or concrete vaults shall be as follows:
Juvenile Graves. - $.20. 00
Adult Graves - $40. 00
SECTION 6. Concrete markers. - charges.
Each grave shall have a concrete marker which .shall be put in
place by the cemetery superintendent. A charge for all concrete markers
shall be $5. 00.
SECTION 7.
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 890 and Pasco City Code 4-1. 50 are hereby
amended toread as follows:
Sunday funerals.
Sunday funerals shall be prohibited.
SECTION 8.
Monday morning funerals.
Monday morning funerals will be permitted only if the grave for
said.funeral is selected before noon on. the previous Saturday.
SEC T ION 9.
Section 2 of Ordinance. No. 573 and Pasco City Code 4-1. 52 and
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 903. and Pasco City Code 4-1.44 are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 10
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days after its
passage and publication. as required by law.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this
