AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION l.OF ORDINANCE NO. 687 AND PASCO
CITY CODE 4-:4.44; AMENDING SECTION, 4 of ORDINANCE NO. 573 AND PASCO
CITY CODE 4•-1: 48; PROVIDING -FOR THE USE OF METAL BOXES OR VAULTS
OR CONCRETE BOXES OR VAULTS; AUTHORIZING' THE CEMETERY SUPER-
INTENDENT TO ,PROVIDE CONCRETE BOXES OR VAULTS; 'ESTABLISHING
CHARGES FOR THE USE OF CONCRETE BOXES OR VAULTS; ESTABLISHING
RULES Ai'VD REGULATIONS WITH REFERENCE TO THE CHARACTER, KIND
AND LOCATION OF MARKERS AND MONUMENTS OR GRAVE STONES: PRO-
HIBITING SUNDAY FUNERALS IN CITY VIEW CEMETERY; AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. From and after the effective date of this Ordinance, Section
1 of Ordinance No. 687 and Pasco City Code 4-1. 44 shall read as follows:
"All grave's must be opened by the Cemetery Superintendent
or under his immediate supervision. A metal box or metal
vault liner .or a concrete box or concrete vault liner must be
provided in said grave before any interment is made therein,
which concrete box or vault shall be. provided by the Cemetery
Superintendent or someone acting under his immediate super-
vision. For providing such concrete .box or vault, the Cemetery
Superintendent shall charge a sum of $37. 50 for each individual
grave for which such concrete box or 'vault is. furnished.
T:he Cemetery Superintendent shall have charge of the closing
of all graves, .and shall providefor each grave•a concrete marker
which he shall put in 11ace. The superintendent shall charge for
the work herein. provided and which shall' be done by him or under
his supervision, the sum of $35. 00, and he shall collect, therefor
and turn the same in to the City Treasurer to be placed to the
credit of the, Cemetery Fund."
Section 2. From and after the effective date of this Ordinance, Section
4.of Ordinance No. 573, and Pasco City Code 4-1. 48, shall read as follows:
I'No trees, plants or shrubs shall be hereafter set in the cemetery
except by or under the immediate supervision of the Superintendent
thereof. All grave stone and monument bases shall be made of granite;
marble, limestone, or other natural stone, and no cement or other
corripositiori. stones of any kind shall be permitted to be set in the
cemetery, and all grave stories and monuments shall be set flush with
the ground in .Lots 4 and, 5 and 10 to 19, inclusive, and no monuments
or markers or grave. stones shall be placed in said cemetery except
that the same be done 'by or' under the direct supervision of the Super-
intendent of the cemetery.'.'.
Section. 3. Sunday funerals shall be permitted in City View Cemetery
only in the event of an emergency approved by the Cemetery Superintendent.
'Section 4. All other, Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict.
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section, 5 . This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days
after its passage and publication as required by law.
