AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND APPROPRIATING BY
EIRGENCY WARRANT THE SUM.OF $61,000.00 FROM THE CURRENT EXPENSE FUND
OF THE CITY OF PASCO FOR COMPROMISE IN SETTLEMENT OF PENDING LITIGATION
ENTITLED "RICHARD G. SCHULTZ VS. THE CITY OF PASCO".
WHEREAS, there is presently pending a law suit by Richard
G. Schultz against the City of Pasco, wherein Richard G. Schultz, as
plaintiff, is seeking damages against the City in the sum of $8,373.97,
as salary due and owing to Richard G. Schultz by his alleged wrongful
dismissal from the Police Force of the City -of Pasco and representing
wages Schultz would have earned as such patrolman from August 16, 1949,
to December 1, 1951, the period of the alleged wrongful separation
not heretofore compensated for, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advantageous to the City of Pasco
to compromise and settle such law suit upon the payment of $6000.000
and
WHEREAS, this matter is an emergency that could not have
been adequately forseen at the time the budget of the year 195 was
adopted, and that this is an emergency other than those enumerated in
Remingtonss Revised Statutes #9000-6,
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PASCO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. V4hat there is hereby appropriated from the Current
Expense Fund of the City of Pasco, the sum of $6000.00 to meet such

emergency and the Mayor and the City l of the City of Pasco
are hereby authorized, upon approval of the appropriate vouchers to
be approved by the City Council, to issue warrants from the Current
Expense Fund of an emergency nature for the purpose of making such
payment.
Section 2. This ordinance to be in full force and effect five (5)
days after its passage and publication.
