AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND APPROPRIATING A SUM OF MONEY
FROM WATER DEPARTMENT FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PASCO TO MEET SUCH EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, there has arisen an emergency in the City of Pasco
by reason of the fact that the unprecedented growth of the water
distribution of the City of Pasco has caused all the stock of cast
iron pipe -on hand for main extensions to have been used up and
WHEREAS, such emergency is one other than those outlined
in RCW 35.33.080 (Remington Revised Statutes 9000-6),
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the
City of Pasco as follows:
Section I. An emergency in the Water Department of the
City of Pasco is hereby declared to exist in that there is a shortage
of cast iron pipe on hand that is necessary to continue to extend the
water services to residents of the City of Pa jco and to keep pace
with the rapid growth of the water distribution system.
Section II. There is hereby appropriated from the Water
Department funds of the City of Pasco the sum of $50,000 for the
purpose of meeting such emergency and to enable the stock piling
and the ordinary extension and expansion of the Water Department
facilities.
Section III. This ordinance to be in effect five (5) days
after its passage and publication.
