HomeMy WebLinkAbout0709 Ordinance4 ORDINANCE q AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY IN THE CURRENT EXPENSES FUNDS IN THE CITY OF PASCO AND APPROPRIATING MONEY WITH WHICH TO MEET THE.S��ME, AND TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE.MAINTENANCE.AND THE OPERATION OF THE PASCO POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FOR ADDITIONAL HYDRANT RENTAL -FOR THE PASCO FIRE DEPARTMENT.. When the budget now existing for the year 1951 was made and adopted, the City Council of the -City of_Pasco could not have foreseen'the necessity of providing additional funds for the maintenance and the operation of the Police Department and for the additional hydrant rental for the Pasco-Fire.Department, and Whereas, -it now appears that there was not sufficient money appropriated and that an emergency has arisen by virtue of the fact that due to the increased cost.'of the meals for prisoners in th_e.Pa:sco Police Department and for the increased hydrant rentals for the Pasco Fire Department, and Where.as,�this emergency is other than those set forth in -Section. 9000-6 of Remington's Revised Statutes of the State of Washington. BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO: Section 1. In view of the existing emergency, ther.e.is.hereby appropriated from the Current Expenses Fund of the. City of Pasco 'the sum of $4,200.00 for the maintenance and the operation of the Pasco Police Department and to provide the necessary money topay on behalf of the City of Pasco such additional costs that have arisen that could not have been foreseen; and further that there is appro- prieted the sum of $1,300.00 for the Pasco Fire Department as in - hydrant creased/rental; and�that it is.necessary to meet the emergency and. provide the necessary money to.pay on behalf'of the City of Pasco such additional expenses,as could not have been foreseen and have arisen;,fu-rther declaring that the monies hereby,appropriated shall be paid by emergency warrants from the Current Expenses Fund.
