AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE HOLDING OFMEETINGSOR GATHERINGS UPON
THE STREET OF PASCO EXCEPT FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND REGULATING
THE MEETINGS FOR PUBLIC INTEREST.
The City Council of the City of Pasco, do ordain as follows.*
Section 1,
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons t o. hold or
attempt to hold any meeting or.meetings for religious, political or
other purposes, excepting meetings for the general welfareand good of
the general public, upon any of the streets or alleys of the City of Pasco.
Section 2,
Any person or persons. desiring to hold a meeting.on the streets
or alleys of�the City of Pasco, for the general welfare and good of the
public shall, before holding or attempting to hold such meeting, obtain
a permit from.the Chief of Police, approved by the Mayor, therefor, such
permit to be obtained a sufficient length of.time prior to such; -meeting
to allow the Police,Department to make .such arrangements. as the Department
deems necessary for policing the streets and handling.of_traffic thereon.
Section 3,
It shall be discretionary with the Mayor and Chief of Police
whether or, not a permit shall be issued as provided for in Section 2 of
this Ordinance, the -plaice where such meeting shall be held and the length
of time during which the streets or alleys may be used for such purpose.
Section 4,
Any person or persons violating any of the provisions -.of this
Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a -misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereofshall be subject to a fine of not to exceed $100.00 or committment
to the City jail for a period of not more than ten'days, or both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section. 5,
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days
after its passage and publication.
