ORDINANCE'NO. 506
AN ORDINANCE RELA'T'ING TO REGULAR CIrJ'Y EMPLOYEES OF TIDE CITY OF
PASCO•WHO MAY BECOME ENGAGED IN THE MILITARY OR NAVAL SERVICES OF
THE UNITED STATES DURING NATIONAL EMERGENCY OR IN TIME OF WAR AND
PROVIDIgG FOR THE REINSTATEMENT OF SUCH PERSONS AS CITY EMPLOYEES
AFTER THEIR RELEASE IN GOOD STANDING FROM THE MILITARY AND NAVAL
SERYTICES OF THE UNITED STATES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE. Any regular employee of the City of Pasco who
shall during any period of National emergency or during any war -in, t
which the United States may become involved, enlist or be drafted
in any brach or department of the military or naval services of -.the
United States shall retain his standing and eligibility as a city
employee and upon receipt of an honorable discharge from the service
of the United States said employee on reporting for duty within sixty
days after his discharge in an able-bodied condition shall be reinstated:!

in his position as an employee of the City of Pasco.
SECTION TWO. Any regular city employee of the City of Pasco who 44
shall be an enlisted man or officer in the reserve forces of any.
branch or .department of the United States military or naval services,
or an enlisted man or officer in the National Guard shall be granted
a leave of absence by the City Council in the event such employee
.is called to active duty; and 'said employee upon be ingrreleased from
said active duty in good standing and upon reporting for duty to the
City of Pasco in an able-bodied condition as soon as possible, and not
more than sixty days after such release shall be reinstated in his
position as an employee of the City of Pasco.
SECTION THREE. For the purposes of this ordinance, a call to
report for training to any city employee who is in the reserve forces
of any branch or department of the military or naval services of the
United States or in the National Guard shall be deemed active duty.

SECTION FOUR. For the purposes of this ordinance, the term
"regular employee" shall mean any person who shall have been in
the employ of the City of Pasco for at least six (6) months, and
who shall not have been appointed to succeed any employees taking
advantage of the terms of this ordinance.
