HomeMy WebLinkAbout0393 Ordinances ■ 1) (#- ORDINAI��CE MELi R l AIT ORDINANCE DEFINING VICIOUS DOGS AND PROVIDING FOR THE RE& STRALNING, DISPOSITION, -AND KILLING THEREOF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLL07S: SECTION ONE. That any dog which shall habitually bite, attempt to bite, snap at, attack, or threaten any person or persons on the public streets of the City of Pasco, and or uhich shall habitually annoy or put in fear of injury any person or persons on such streets, shall be, and is hereby defined as a vicious dog. SECTION T1.70. Upon complaint being made to the Chief of Police that any person in the City of Pasco orin, harbors, or has in his custody or control any vicious dog, as defined in Section One hereof, it shall be the duty of the said Chief of Police to investigate and determine whether or not such dog so complained of is, in fact, a vicious dog as herein defined, and if the said Chief of Police, after such investi„ation, detemines that said dog is a vicious dog as herein defined, he shall then notify the person having charge, custody, or control of such animal, that he must keep the same securely upon his oin premises and not alloy said dog upon the streets except the same shall be under leash and accompanied by the said oviner or person having custody thereof, and if, after said notice has been given, the said dog is again found or seen upon the streets in violation of the provisions of this section, it shall then be the duty of the Chief of Police to take, or cause • said dog to be taken, outside the City Limits and killed and buried. SECT IOM THREE. Any persons ivho, being the owner of any dog or the person having custody or control of any dog which is a vicious dog, as defined in Section One of this Ordinance, and «ho shall wailfully permit such animal to be at large on the streets of Pasco, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be fined in any su.m not less than $5 nor more than $25, and pay the costs of prosecution. SECTION FOUR. This ordinance shall be in force and effect five days after its passage and publication. Passed and approved this /7 day of , 1931. t Mayor.
