PASCO:
Section 1. Hereafter it sahll be unlawful for any
person or persons, company, corporation or association
to do, transact, exercise, engage in or carry on, either
directly or indirectly within the limits of the city of
Pasco, any trade, occupation, business or activity for
which a license is hereafter required or a license fee
provided, withou-t first procuring such license and paying
such fee.
Section 2. Each applicant for a city license shall
file an application with the city clerk together with the
amount to be paid for such license, and the city clerk
shall issue a receipt Tor the same. The city clerk shall,
at the next regular meeting of the city council present
the application to the said city council and if the ap-
plication be approved by the city council the city clerk
shall issue the applicant a license. If the application
be not approved the city clerk sahll return the amount of
money received at the time the application was filed. All
applications for licenses as herein provided for sahll
be in writing and signed by the applicant and shall give
his residence and business address and such other inform-
ation as may be required.
Section 3. No license shall entitle the holder
thereof to carry on.business except in the place named
therein unless the place so named shall have been first
permanently closed. No license shall be transferable or
assignable except by express -.-ote of the city council.
Section 4. Every person, company, corporation or as-
sociation engaged in any business or trade or, occupation
for which a license is required shall keep such license
posted in a conspicuous place abort such place of business
and shal produce such license at any time or. demand of
the city clerk or any police officer. All licenses shall
• be conditioned -upon the licensee conforming to all the
laws of the United States, of the State of Washington, .and
ordinances of the City of Pasco, pertaining, to such bus-
iness or occupation. All licenses shall be for the period
of one year, unless otherwise provided herein, said license
to begin on JtLly the first of each year and 'terminate on
the 30th day of June following. No rebate shall be paid
or allowed if the licensee shall fail to operate the bus-
iness for the full period'of the license. In every case
where more than one of the businesses or occupations for
which a license is required is carried on in the same place,
by the same person, at the same time, a license must be
taken out for each of said businesses.

Section 5. Any license granted hereunder may be
revoked or forfeited or the unexpired term thereof short-
ened by the city council for any reason which to it may
seem sufficient. 911 licenses herein provided for shall
be payable in advance:
BOWLING ALLEYS
• Section 6. Keepers of bowling alleys shall pay a
license fee of eight dollars 08.00) per 4 year for each
alley used, ovaned or operated in such place of business.
Every place open to the public where bowls are thrown or
where box ball is played shall be termed a bowling alley
hereunder.
CARNIVALS AND CIRCUSES
Section 7. very circus show hall pay a license fee
of twenty five dollars $25.00) per day. every carnival
show, or ehow generally known *and classed. as a carnival
show, charging a fee of fifty cents (501) or more for gen-
eral admission, or where the charge for general admission
and reserved seats together exceed fifty cents (50¢), shall
pay a license fee of seven tj five dollars (4A75.00) for the
first day and fifty dollars ($50.00) per day for each ad-
ditional day. Every carnival show, or show enerally known
and classed as a carnival, charging a fee of less than fif-
ty cents (60V') for general admission, or where the charge
for generRl admission and reserved seats together do not
exceed fi'ty cents (50V) shall pay a license fee oi` fifty
dollars ($50.00) for the first day and twenty five dollars
($25.00) per day for :a.ch additional d€j. The proprietor
or manager of any o -Ah.3r :how not othertise herein provided
for, shall pay a license fee of five dollars ( $5.00) per
day unless such performance be given for the benefit of
some local, social, reli:;ious , fraternal or educational
organization, or for some charitable purpose or shall be a
recc_;nized chautauqu-a.
'Before issuing a license under this section to any car-
nival or show generally known a carnival, the city clerk
shall, for his guidance in fiYng the amount to be paid for
such license, require of the i.anager, proprietor or author-
ized agent of said carnival, E.n affil-;,vit settin forth un-
der oath, the number and kind of side entrance shows under
the--anagenent and control of the said carnival, together
with affidavit stating the amount charged for admission
and reserved seats; such affidavit is not in any way to be
deemed conclusive of the facts stated therein and it shall
be the duty o* the chief of police and the city clerk to
ascertain the truth of the allegations set forth in. said af-
fidavit and the city clerk and chief of police shall deter-
mine under what class the said carnival shall be classified
and the amount to be paid as license fee.
THEATRES AND 110V ING PIC `PURE SHOWS
Section 8. Proprietors or man.ager> of theatre or
,loving picture shows having a seating capacity of more
than three hundred ( 300) persons shall pay a license fee
of fifty dollars ($50.00) per year and those having ceat-
i::g capacity of less t•,an three hundred ( 300) shall pay
a license fee of twenty-five dollars (�25.00) per year.

Section 9. Berry -go -rounds shall pay a license fee of
two dollars (v62.00) per day, except upon holidays, cir-
cus or carnival days, such charge shall be five dollars
(.'5.00) per day. Each skating rink shall pay an annual
license fee of t-.!enty five dollars 026.00) per year.

Section 10. Every person, firm or corporation who
shall by means of any vehicle carry any perso or persons
to or from any point within the corporate limits, of the

day for each and every day such temporary store is con-
ducted, provided that any person open in a bu:'iness in
said city under cl&in that the same is intended to be per-

Section 14. Any peddler or person, firm or corpor-

or merchandise, or takes orders for ;oods, wares or mer-

secure a license as herein provided. Peddlers shall be

to place and sells or offers to sell, any ;oods, wares,
or merchandise from a t,.agon, r-:ug_y, or automobile or other
veh icl e Those of the second class to iftclude Persons %:ho
go about from place to place or house to house in said city
and sell or offer to sell any goods, wares or mer�7zan-
dise, or tares orders for the future deliveryof goods, wares
or merchandise while traveling on foot, Peddlers of the first
class shall pay a license fee of five dollars (Y5.00) per day.
Persons, firms or corporation: of the ec,onry. 3.10-s , shall

vided that peddlers -;.rho sell farm or garden products aich
they have themselves grown shall not be required to pz:.y any

per year.

Section 16. -11 persons, firms or corporations en-

shall pay an annual license fee of ten dollars ( Y10.00)
Every p4kb broker sh_ll pay an annual license fee of five
dollars 05.00) Every pam+b broker and second hand defiler
carrying on such business within the City of Pas --,o shall,
before noon o;: Saturday of each week, furnish to the chief
of police or patrolmen of the City o F Pasco, on suc'z forms
as such chief of police -nay provide therefor, a full, true
and correct tra.n:;criy,,t record of all transactions

land dealer having good cause to believe t het any property

Section ly. Any person. violating any o -r the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be deemed ga.11_ty of a
misdemeaner and upon conviction therof shay} be punished
b� fine in any sum not exceeding one hr ire -.. d of i ars
. (•2100.00) or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty (30 )
days in the city jail, or b, both said Zine and i;nprisonment.
Section 17. Ordinan-e number 288, entitlecl, "An

other orjinance� and parts of ordinances in conflict

Section 18. This ordinance shall take effect five
days from and after its passage and publication.
