AN ORDINANCE �PHOVIDING r UE THE AP20INTMEbT OF A WATER SUPER-
INTENDENT, SEWER INSPECTOR, STREET 51JPERINTENDENT AND PURCHAS-
ING AGENT, DEFINING THEIR DUTIES, jrIXIVG THEIR SALARIES AND
TERM OF OFNICE , AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PA CTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREW ITH .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'i'HE CITY OP PASCO DO URDAIN AS POLLOWS;
Section 1. WAtER SUPERINTENDENT. The City Council shall,
from time to time, elect and employ a citizen and resident
of Pasco to be known as a water superintendent. He shall have
supervision of the -present water system, acquisitions to said
system or any new system that may be installed and the repair
thereof, shall attend to the pruning and caring for all trees
in parking strips of the city as distinguished from their
parks, and shall have supervision of the sewer system and re-
pair thereof and shall perforin such other duties as may from
time to time be assigned to him by the city 00uncil. His
salary be and is hereby fixed at V150.00, which amount,, however,,
may from time to time, be changed by the City council. He shall
be required to make reports to the City Council v&,en and as often
as said City Council may direct.
Section 2. SEWER INSPECTOR. The City Council shall.from time
to time designate some employe of the City of Pasco to act as
sewer inspector.
Section 3. STREET SUPERINTENDENT. The Mayor shall appoint a
street superintendent as provided by law and he shall have
general supervision of the streets and alleys of the city and
shall employ such help as may be,;deemed necessary and advisable
in the care and up -keep of such streets and alleys and to per-
form such other duties as may be assigned to him from time to
timeq by the city council. Such street superintendent may
be any member of the city council or any appointive officer
or employee of the city and he shall serve without oompenea-
tion therefor.
Section 4. PURCHASING AGENT. The Mayor shall from time to
time appoint a purchasing agent. He shall purchase or issue
requisitions for purchas of any 9naterial or supplies required
to be purchased for or on behalf of the City of Pasco by the
officers or employees thereof and no bill, statement or voucher
for such purchase shall be allowed or ordered paid by the city
council unless accompanied by proper requisition signed by such
purchasing agent. Provided that any purchase involving an
expenditure in excess of $100 shall first be submitted to the
city council for their approval. Such appointment shall be
made from among the officers or employees of the city and shall
serve without additional compensation therefor.
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect five days from
and miter its passage and publication.
