HomeMy WebLinkAbout0318 Ordinance0 INANCE NO. % AN ORDNANCE PROPOSING TO RiE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PASCO THAT THE SAID CITY CP PASCO MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CITY PARK OP THECITY OF PASCO , BY CONSTRUCTING THEREON A NATJTORIUM, AND DE- 01ARING THE ESTIM TED COSTS THEREOF AM PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION, RATIFYING OR REJECTING THE PROPOSAL AND T[1E- PAYItENT THEREOF BY ME ISSUANCE OF TEN YEAR NEGOTIABLE BONDS OF THE SAID CITY. W9 EREAS , the City of Pasco owns a municipal park oppoEi- to the Franklin County courthouse, and- WHEREAS, nd WHEREAS, the welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Pasco demands the construction and operation of aswimming pool or nattitorium, and WHEREAS the said city is at the present time without any such equipment to serve the welfare, recreation, and pleasure of its inhabitants, and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council to construct such natAtormum on the site aforesaid, and to borrow money therefor and issue its negotiable bonds in an amount not exceeding $10,000.00. NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City of Pasco, as follows: Section 1. That the mayor and City Council of the said City of Passok do hereby propose and submit to the voters of the said'eity for their ratification or rejection at a Special Election, to be held in the City of Pasco on the 19th day of September, 1921, the proposition that the City of Pasco im- prove the city park opposite ithe Franklin County Courthouse, by constructing thereon a nat&torium or swimming pool. Section 2. That the general plan thereof provides for a concrete pool, approximately 75 x 30 ft. in size with suitable buildings, dressing rooms and equipment. Section 3. The estimated cost of said na-t1torium not to exceed $10,000.00. Section 4. That at the special election as hereinbefore -2- stated the proposition submited to the voters of the City of Pasco shall be substantially as follows: "For the construction of Natatorium and the issuance of 10 year negotiable bonus in payment thereof, and cost not to exceed $109000.00." -- "Against construction of Nat&torium."-- Passed and approved this 16th day of August, 1921. _ mayor ATTEST: J City Clerk Approved as to f orm: Ci orney. .
