HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-15-1966 Minutes2 u n PASCO, WASHINGTON COUNCIL CHAMBERS REGULAR MEETING CALL TO ORDER: NOVEMBER 15, 1966 Meeting called to order at 8:03 P.M. by the Honorable G.E. Carter, Mayor. ROLL CALL: By Clerk's Representative. Councilmen present were: G.E. Carter, J.G. Bailey, Fred Robinson, George P. Stork, Russell Wiseman and Donald Cooper. Councilman R.L. Greenlee was absent from the meeting. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion made by Carter, seconded by Bailey that on Page 262, under section, "VISITORS", that the last sentence of paragraph two be stricken from the record. Motion Carried. Motion made by Robinson, seconded by Stork that the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held November 1, 1966, be approved as corrected. Motion Carried. VISITORS: ROGER OLSON, a local attorpey, addressed the Council on behalf of Desert Marine. Each Councilman was presented a copy of Consent to Assignment of Lease for consideration and signatures. Mayor Carter thanked MR. Olson for his presentation - stating the Council would like an opportunity to go over lease, but would report at the next Regular Meeting on December 6, 1966. He assured Mr. Olson a letter would be drafted to Corps of Engineers stating change of ownership. Motion made by Bailey, seconded by Wiseman that recommendation of City Engineer be accepted and Schell Concrete be awarded bid in the amount of $99390.35. Motion carried by roll call vote of six (6). NEW BUSINESS: ZONE CHANGE REQUEST - 12TH 6 AINSWORTH: A letter from Lyle Balderson, City anMg Commission, was read recommen ing'zone change from Residential R-2 to Commercial C-3 for Lots 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, Block 11, Riverside Addition to Pasco. co r"a Do< �rt i 1 PASCO, WASHINGTON COUNCIL CHAMBERS REGULAR MEETING ZONE CHANGE - CONTINUED: NOVEMBER 15, 1966 Motion made by Wiseman, seconded by Bailey to hold a Public Hearing on this request, December 20, 1966. Motion Carried. BUSINESS LICENSE ROSTER: The following business license applications await approval of the Council: BASIN TREE SERVICE Tree Trimming 928 W. Court Garvin Stone Pasco, Wash. TRI CITY MOTOR 6 TRANSMISSION Automotive Eddie Rives 619 N. 3rd Pasco, Wash. Motion made by Cooper, seconded by Bailey that all business license applications be approved. Motion Carried. RESOLUTIONS: RESOLUTION NO. 701: - A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFERS UNDER THE CEMETERY, GOLF AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL DEPARTMENTS OF THE 1966 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF PASCO. The City Manager read Resolution No. 701 in its entirety. Motion made by Bailey, seconded by Wiseman to adopt Resolution No. 701. Motion carried by roll call vote of six (6). MANAGER'S REPORT: The City Manager reported the City of Kennewick will be showing a movie on downtown improvement in the City of Grand Junction, Colorado at 7:30 P.M., November 16, 1966, and urged all to attend, if possible. A Public Hearing conducted by the Washington Pollution Control will be held at the P.U.D., November 22, 1966 at 9:30 A.M. A report will be given at Workshop Session same evening.
