HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-01-1962 MinutesPASCO, WASHINGTON SP_E��AL_MEET INC COUNCIL CHAMBERS OCTOBER 1, 1 62 CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Honorable Mayor T. R. Van Hoy. ROLL CALL: By Clerk. Councilmen present: G. E. Carter, L. R. Diemond, R. L. Greenlee, Ed Hendler, H. C. James, C. D. Kilbury and A. D. Stanley. City Attorney absent account of being in Court. City Supervisor George R. Fisher was present. This meeting called for the purpose of PUBLIC HEARING and ADOPTING the 1963 BUDGET. Notice of Public Hearing and Budget Ordinance No. 1063 were read. Motion made -by James, seconded by Hendler, that Ordinance No. 1063 was read. Motion carried. Mayor declared the meeting open for discussion. Fire Chief requested that his portion of the Budget allocated to Salaries be re -read. This was done. It was stated that an additional $8.00"per employee was set up for Group Insurance. P.B.X. exchange system was explained. Mayor Van Hoy objects to the W1 B & 0 tax and wishes to go on record opposing same. Outside City Limits would not pay this tax. The Utility Compan;ies did not object. ACTUARIAL STUDY AND REPORT: This will have to be made each year in order to use a fraction of the one mill allgwed the Firemen's Pension Fund. The remainder of the fraction will be for General Fund use. No objections were made. Public Hearing declared closed by the Mayor. Hendler stated one oversight was the omission of Vacation and Sick Leave from the P.B.X. Operator Department. Motion made by Hendler, seconded by James, to amend Ordinance No. 1063 by removing $300.00 from City Hall Heat Light and Water and placing it in the Administrative Department for R.B.X. Operator's Vacation and Sick Leave. Motion carried. Motion made by James, seconded by Hendler, that Ordinance No. 1063 be adopted as amended. Motion carried by roll call vote of seven (7).
