A letter was read from Harry H. Hudlow bringing to the attention of the Mayor and Council cer-
tain trends in street lighting development. He thinks gaseous discharge lamps such as mercury
vapor and flourescent will supplant incandescent to an increasing extent.
Incandescent lamps continue to be the lowest cost light service for the small size units, but
as light output increases, a point is reached where mercury vapor becomes more economical. It
can be expected in the cost of incandescent lighting sources. The costs were defined and
comparison made.
