BUDGET MEETING
CALL TO ORDER:
PASCO, WASHINGTON
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 7. 1957
Meeting called to order at 8:00 P. M. Honorable Mayor Harry V. Custer presiding.
ROLL CALL:
By Clerk. Councilmen present were 0. C. Adams, C. R. Combs, Raymond Hicks, K. E. Moore, T. R.
VanHoy and David Zier. Ed Thompson was absent. City Attorney Richard G. Patrick was present.
PUBLIC HEARING ON 1958 BUDGET:
Notice of hearing was read.
ORDINANCE NO. 907:
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1958
Motion made by Adams, seconded by Moore to give Ordinance No. 907 the third reading. Motion carried.
Hearing declared open by Mayor Custer. Mrs. Kidwell questioned a few items in the Library Budget
regarding the building repairs, book fund, janitor salary, etc. Same were answered by the Council.
Chief of Police A. L. McKibbin questioned a few items in his budget such as longevity, salary
spread, etc. Same were answered.
Fire Chief Lyle Cooney stated his questions and problems were comparable to McKibbin's.
City Attorney Richard G. Patrick registered dissatisfaction with his budget and states the 1958
Budget as revised is $850.00 lower than 1957 budget; feels that his department has been sold short.
Ralph Ecker, J. Ridgway, R. Worley and L. E. Mabry were present. Mr. Ecker inquired about the
Planning Budget.
No one desired further expressions. Mayor declared the hearing closed.
Motion made by Zier, seconded by Moore that Ordinance No. 907 has had the third reading and
public hearing. Motion carried.
Motion made by Adams, seconded by Moore to adopt Ordinance No. 907. Motion carried by roll
call vote of six (6)., (all members present) (Thompson was absent).
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion made by Combs, seconded by VanHoy to adjourn to next regular meeting, Tuesday, 8:00 P. M.,
October 15, 1957. Motion carried.
