HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-27-1957 MinutesADJOURNED MEETING CALL TO ORDER: PASCO, WASHINGTON 27. 1 Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. Honorable Mayor Harry V. Custer presiding. ROLL CALL: By Clerk. Councilmen -present were 0. C. Adams, Raymond Hicks, K. E. Moore, and David Zier. Absent were C. R. Combs, Ed Thompson an d T. R. Van Hoy. City Attorney Richard G. Patrick was present. Legal notice of meeting being adjourned to this time was advertised. Notice of Call for Bids was read. Bids on construction of water distribution lines were opened at this time. Five bids received, opened and read as follows: PHOENIX, MATHEWS 1040 N. E. Baldwin Portland, Oregon $52,783.26 CASCADE ENGINEERING CO. Box 231 Richland, Washington $519,090-57 HAROLD KAESER CO. 3629 S. 34th Seattle, Washington $61,993.29 SALEM SAND AND GRAVEL CO. 1405 N. Front Salem, Oregon 3663,239.80 HANNING & CONZALES 2540 N. E. Union Ave. Portland, Oregon $82,284.61 Motion made by Adams, seconded by Zier to refer bid to Engineers for extensions, study and report at the next regular meeting September 3, 1957. Motion carried. Chairman of Park Board, G. K. Mercier and Park Superintendent Harold Wyman spoke to the Council regarding an option on property in Richardson Addition for park purposes. They request that an option to purchase real estate by agreement be acted on at this time; property includes lots 6 to 10 inclusive, Block 1 and lots 1 to 10 inclusive Block 2, Rich ardsonts Addition to Pasco. Balance of $6,000.00 or $5,950.00 be paid on or.before April first, 1958. Motion made by Adams, seconded by Hicks authorizing the Mayor to sign option and warrant for $50.00 to be paid August 28, 1957. Balance of X65,950.00 to be paid on or before April 1, 1958. Motion carried by roll call vote of four (4). BOAT BASIN DEVELOPMENT: Park Board Chairman, G. K. Mercier and Supt. H. Wyman also desire a loan of X64,000.00 to develop the west end of the Basin, they need equipment, fence, sprinkling system, grass and toilet facilities. To be paid back with ^500.00 rental money. This will be studied and report rendered. Using City owned equipment when ever possible was also mentioned.
