CALL TO ORDER:

Meeting called to order at 12:08 P. M. Honorable Mayor Harry V. Custer presiding.
ROLL CALL:
By Clerk. Councilmen present were J. A. Avery, L. E. Bonnett, C. R. Combs, S. A.
Connell, Raymond Hicks, -C. S. Milne and,T. R. Van Hoy. City Attorney Richard G.
Patrick was present.
Meeting called at this time and place to open bids advertised on lease on City
owned property.
No bids were received.
Motion made by Avery to call for bids on same property with other provisions.
Motion died for want of a second.
Provisions to be incorporated in the next advertisement were discussed. Leasing
or selling and the City accepting the offer most beneficial to the City was
suggested by a Councilman.
Ordinance No. 551, an ordinance regulating the sale of the City property was
rued by the City Attorney and discussed. It was decided that the property should
not he put up for sale until a written request had been received by the Council.
COURT ACTION brought against the City by Contractor John Miller was referred to
by Councilman Bonnett. City Attorney stated a demurrer was filed last week and
will probably be heard some time this week. The Council requests court hearing
at the earliest possible date.
Mr. Sydney Sher spoke relative to improvements and lease rental, value of prop-
erty and percentage was mentioned as tae basis for rental fee.
Motion made by Hicks, seconded by Avery that the City Attorney be authorized to
draw up a proposal to lease without any more detail than possible on City owned
property and as soon aspossible. Resolution to be prepared. Motion cariled by
roll call vote of six (6 . Bonnett abstaining.
The 'Council requested the City Attorney to prepare resolution and all details
for action on Tuesday, July 5, 1955•
SPECIAL MEETING of July 29, 1955 is hereby cancelled.
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion rm de by Avery, seconded by Milne to adjourn. Motion carried.
