B. Lovelace, Building Inspector, to Mr. N. T. Holter, stating that the top or covering of the well is in a dangerous condition and recommending that well be filled at once. DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS (YACHT BASIN GRAVEL): A letter was read from T. P. Doyle with reference to meeting with the City Council and Director:. of Highways, Mr. Bugge and gravel material removed from the Boat,Basin. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Connell to file letter for future use. Motion carried. INSURANCE COMMITTEE: A letter was read from D. A. Gallant requesting that his agency be included on the City list of agencies. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Milne to turn to the Insurance Committee. (Combs, Avery & Bonnett). Motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING: VACATE NORTH & SOUTH ALLEYS, BLKS 6 & 72 PETITTS 2nd ADD; Notice of public hearing was read. No objections registered in person or by letter. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Combs that Ordinance be drawn as requested by petition. Motion carried. BIDS: LEASING CONCESSION SITE AT YACHT BASIN: Notice of call for bids was read. No bids received. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Combs that the Park Board negotiate and report back to Council. Motion carried. ° HOTEL PARKING, 30 FEET RESERVE, 1st & COLUMBIA STREETS: A letter was read from Robert H. White reguesting a minimum of 30 feet reserved at entrance of Hotel on 1st Street. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Bonnett to turn this to the Police Committee. Motion carried. REDI-MIX: Combs reports that notice has been forwarded to owners of the pit.requesting that they set the date for a meeting with the Committee and interested parties. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Connell that notices be sent out when meeting is decided upon. Motion carried. LIBRARY REPORT READ: Temporary appointment and acting librarian positions discussed. Motion made by Milne, seconded by Connell that the Library Committee investigate and report. Motion carried. UNDERPASS LIGHTS NOT ADEQUATE: Fisher reports it would cost approximately $900.00 to make corrections. Budget consulted by Bonnett. Motion made by Connell, seconded by Milne to postpone - correction until more money can be found for this expenditure. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 826:: LIBRARY EMERGENCY: Motion mad e by Avery, seconded by Bonnett to advertise for public hearing on emergency ordinance for 8:00 P. M., Tuesday, May 17, 1955. Motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING COUNTY FRANCHISE, WATER LINES: Hearing to be held at 2:00 P. M., May 16, 1955 by the County Commissioners at the Court House. LAND USE MAPS: Mayor Custer requests that three maps be purchased from his supplies to be used on the Land Use program.^ . 2323 PASCO, WASHINGTON APPOINTMENTS: Mayor requests that suggestions be made and names bubmitted by the Council for two vacancies occuring, one each on the Planning Commission and 'ark Board by June 7, 1955• ASSOCIATION OF WASHINGTON CITIES CONTENTION, TACOMA, WASHINGTON: Sending representatives to this convention was mentioned." SIX INCH PIPE INE - WEST NIXON: Motion mdde by Avery, seconded by Milne authorizing the replacement of a 2" line with a 611 water line on West Nixon between 3rd & 4th. Streets. Motion carried. PURLIC HEARING: DISPOSITION OF CITY PROPERTY: Public Hearing on disposition of £wo blocks of city property is to be held on thursday, "lay 5, 1955 at 8:00 P. M. CITY CLERK mailed March 1955 Budget Report to each member account report being finished after the second meeting in April, 1955• ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Avery, seconded by Combs to adjourn to next regular meeting on Tuesday, 8:00 P.
