Custer presiding. ROLL CALL: I' By Clerk. Councilmen present were J. A. Avery, L. E. Bonnett, Lee J. Craig and T. R. VanHoy. S. A. Connell arrived late. Absent were C. R. Combs and C. S. Milne. City Attorney Richard G. Patrick was present. PIPE BIDS: Consulting Engineer and City Engineer George R. Fisher recommend the following low bids be accepted: (1) Pipe U. S. Pipe & Foundry, low on pipe $118;024.50 (2) Fittings Hughes & "ompany, low on fittings 2;681.18 (3) Valves Pacific Waterworks Supply,low 4,861.81 Motion made by Avery, seconded by Bonnett that the low bids as recommended be accepted. Motion carried by roll call vote of four (4). READING OF ORDINANCES: ORDINANCES NO. 790: AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE NORTH AND SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 4, O'KEEFE'S SECOND ADDITION TO PASCO Motion made by Avery, seconded by Bonnett to give Ordinance wo. 790 the first - reading. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 790 was read. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Avery that Ordinance No. 790 has been given the first reading. Motion carried. ORDINANCE -N0. 791: AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE NORTH AND SOUTH ALLEY OF BLOCK ONE, HELM'S ADDITION TO PASCO Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Avery to give Ordinance No. 791 the first reading. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 791 was read. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Avery that Ordinance No. 791 has been given the first reading. Motion.carried. MISCELLANEOUS: LEHL ELECTRIC, 327 W. CLARK: Motion mdde by Bonnett, seconded by Avery"to eliminate one meter space for load- ing zone at 327 W. Clark. Motion carried. BUSINESS LICENSE; MERRY-GO-ROUND: Harley A. Leavitt, 3rd & Margaret. Motion m de by Bonnett, seconded by Avery setting fee at $25.00 and authorizing issuance. Motion carried. EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT: Purchasing masks in the amount of $900.00 as requested would necessitate an emergency ordinance. Motion made by Connell, seconded by Avery to turn this to the fire committee for serious investigation and recommendation at the next regular meeting. Motion carried. SIDEWALK, JOHN HORRIGAN: A letter was read from John Horrigan stating he would construct sidewalk as soon as he could obtain a contractor. Clerk to acknowledge letter stating that the City will be glad to accommodate on curb cutting when need arises. LEGAL SERVICES: Mayor requests data on charges involviig legal procedure necessary for re- zoning, platting, vacating, special meetings for other than government bodies and other work requiring research, time and material. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Connell that Clerk draw up a set of fees on legal work as per usual request. Motion carried. 2183 PASCO, WASHINGTON ADJOURNED MEETING COUNCIL CHAMBERS MAY 59 1954 'I WASTE WAY WATER: Meeting to be held at Ephrata. City Engineer to attend. ANGLE PARKING AT CAMPBELL'S MARKET: Street Committee reports that the market operator or owner agreed to install sidewalks and curbs. APPOINTMENT: Mayor Custer appointed Evan Allstrom as a member of the Planning '-ommission to succeed E. T. Lindner, term expiring April 7, 1956. Motion made by Avery, sec- onded by Bonnett concurring with the Mayor's appointment. Motion carried. ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Avery, seconded by Craig to adjourn. Motion carried.
