WATER DEPARTIVENT LIQUID CHLORINE AND SULFATE ALUMINA A letter was read from George R. Fisher requesting authority to call for bids on liquid chlorine and sulfate of Alumina for the year -1954; Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Milne authorizing call"for bids Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. January 19, 1954. Motion carried. FIRE CHIEF CAR was read from Fire Chief L. A. BIDS::... _C.OQIEICATION DE-ORDIXANCES i One bid was received from the Book Publishing Company; "Book Publishing Company will codify and revise the city' ordinances of Pasco and supply twenty-five mimeographed; loose- leaf, bound copies of the code for'the sum of -X5,300.00, payable upon completion of the job.' This code will be copyrighted by Book Publishing Company, and Book -Publish- ing Company will license the City of Pasco to sell or dis- tribute the codes as it sees fit. Book Publishing Company will suppy-the City of Pasco with a final draft prior to publication, and will send a repre- sentative to confer with city officials relative to any changes or corrections." Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Milne to accept the bid. Motion carried by a roll call vote of seven (7). Inasmuch as there is an'average of 47 words per inch in 6 -pt solid and 32 words per inch in 8 -pt solid, these are equivalent to: $:65 per inch for the first insertion and .44 for each subsequent, in 6 -pt solid $:60 per inch for the first insertion and .40 per inch for each subsequent in 8 -pt solid".. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT DRIVEWAY SPIC 1N SPAN SOUTH 4th Earl Hoover -in person wishes -to cement vacant lot sough and adjacent to the Spic /N Span Cleaners -remove a portion of the'back building,.cut the curb on forth thus create a drive way through to the alley, making a place for customers to drive in for depositing and picking up -their cleaning.- Motion made by Avery seconded by Milne to turn this to the street committee for study and report at next meeting. Motion carried. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS RESUMED BY UNANIT40US CONSENT. WATER BILL E.V. CRONIN Mr. Cronints water deposit was exceeded by i5,85 payment due August 29, 1953. This amount to be collected through court action account -Bankruptcy. Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Milne approving'Mayors signature'and City Seal on proof of claim pr©pared by the City Attorney. Motion carried. C ;'REPORT FROM COMMITTEES: CHURCH SIGNS (DI'RECTIONAL) With reference to requests for placing directional signs for churchs. Motion made by Milne'seconded by -Craig that requests be granted subject to approval of City Engineer. Motion carried. I _ SIDEWALK (SEARS & ROEBUCK) STREET COMMITTEE Motion made by Milne seconded by Craig to accept plan and agreement submitted by Sears & Roebuck .Motion carried. Agreement to be passed on by City Attorney. EMPTY HOUSE GRAYS ADDITION Building Inspector states nothing has been done to date relative to disposing of this building. Cooney to contact Harold Blanton. NORTHERN PACIFIC EASEMENT RVV5541 (W7�13413) For connecting street between W. Lewis and "A" Streets near ship Avenue. Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Milne to reject easement No.-RW5541 and return same to the Northern Pacific Railway Company. Motion carried. EAST SIDE L.I. D Engineer. Property ownor-ship list will be checked by thelCity/soon as he can get a work map prepared. FOSTER STREET GRADING Street Committee reports this has been done. HIGHWAY DEPA-RTIa1ENT BORROW PIT AREA AND HAUL ROAD;AIRPORT PROPERTY Mayor Custer -states, David James of the State High way Department, requests that the Airport to secure erosion and bill the State'for cost of same. City Attorney to draw up Agreement for City approximating 1,000 pounds of rye would be needed. Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Craig that the City Attorney draw up agreement have same signed by proper state authorities. READING OF ORDINANCES; ORDINANCE NO. 775 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON ACCEPTING THE JOINT BI -D OF FOSTER & MARSHALL, McLEAN & COMPANY, SCHWABACHER & CO., RICHARDS, MERRILL & PETERSON, INC., -AND -CHAS. N. TRIPP CO. FOR THE ISSUE OF $800,000.00 PAR VALUE OF "WATER AND SEWER REVENUE BONDS, 1954" OF THE CITY; FIXING THE INTEREST RATES ON SAID BONDS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRINTING, EXE* jl CUTION, DELIVERY AND SALE OF SAID BONDS AND FOR THE RETURN OF THE CHECK DEPOSITED BY THE UN SUCCESSFUL BIDDER. ORDINANCE NO. 778 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE 690 BEING AN ORDINANCE.AMPNDING ORDINANCE 625 AND BEING AN ORDINANCE�AMENDING AND CHANGING CHARGES FOR WATER SERVI-CE WITHIN THE CITY OF PASCO., WASHINGTON; ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR THE NON-PAYMENT OF WATER CHARGES; AND PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING OF DEPOSITS WITH THE WATER MANAGER AS SECURITY FOR THE PAYMENT OF WATER CHARGES.
