They state a plat of their property at this location will he filed within a reasonable period of time. Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Craig to•g rant request. Building Inspector to be so notified. Motion carried. NORTHERN PACIFIC PERMIT NO. 7600 A letter was read from J. T. Moore requesting copies of action taken b y Ordinance or resolution relinquishing Permit No. 72373 and executing Permit No. 76005. City Clerk to investigate for this information. j! HARMON-PRAY-DETRICH, ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS: I. A letter was read of their interest to obtain position as architects for the City. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Connell to file letter. Motion carried.- PASCO-KENNEWICK BRIDGE REVISION: A letter was read from W. A. Bugge stating that South 10th Street between Lewis and the City Limits will be no longer a necessary part of the State Highway System afterabout June 1, 1954 and is hereby notifying the City so they may make adequate provisions in the 1954 Budget for maintenance of same. This was turned to the Street Committee. RICHARDS & BLUM: A letter was read from Mr. Richards making inquiry regarding purchase of bonds and financial assistence. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Craig to inform this Company of present status. Motion carried. ARMY ENGINEERS, RIVERUIE"VV. PARK .& PONDING:AREA-: Max K. Tysor requests tentative approval of acceptance on the Riverview Park & Ponding Area; a draft such as one sabmitted on Boat Basin; Mayor to write accept- ance* i Letter from Max K. Tysor, September 1, 1953, was read, also attached copy of joint inventory and condition report. Copy of letter to be signed by the yIayor and re- turned. Inventory copy sent to Park Board. Motion made by Craig, seconded by Bonnett and carried. WESTON SAND & GRAVEL COMPANY!., A letter from Lyle E. Weston to the Council was read stating that by October 6, he will be able to give a pretty definite answer on information needed. This is in answer to George R. Fisher's letter of August 6, 1953 regarding time limit on activities violating contract. Motion made by Combs, seconded by Bonnett to turn this to the City Attorney to issue a stop order. Motion carried. PASCO, WAS NINGTON REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT: BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY: T. P. Cummings was present and stated to the Council procedure and advantage receivedl,following , following codification of Ordinances;would cost approximately 16,200.00 printed and bound $5,300.00; mimeographing copies, cost per year on continuation service $275.00. A letter from the Company regarding prices was requested. r CHASE STREET IN BAD CONDITION:. Mr. Howard Lee states that Chase Street between Court and Sylvester needs repairs badly from the center line on East side. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Bonnett to turn this to the Street Committee. Motion carried. Mr. Lee also mentioned the need of a larger R-1 District or close restrictions .on R-2 zone. D. A. SPEIER, ALLEY BETWEEN 9th & 19th & B & Ainsworth: Committee Chairman Lee J. Craig reports that rocks and dirt is banked up; feels it is proper to request the street department to blade. Motion made by Connell, seconded by Craig that Street Department be instructed to grade this alley. Motion carried. JAMES E. WELCH, (GARAGE): Appeal from Planning Commission action was read. Mr. Mercier spoke regarding public servicerrendered by Mr. Welch. Ve_ Mr. Welch & Mr. Ridenour reviewed previous statements relative to need of zoning. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by VanHoy that the building committee meet with t the Planning Commission on September 8, 1953 for history of the case and report to the City Council on September 15, 1953• Motion carried. SIDEWALK FROM LEWIS TO LONGFELLOW SCHOOL: Mrs. McNutt spoke on the need of a sidewalk for grade school age children. Mayor informed her that construction has been held up by State Highway Department on grades. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS RESUMED BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT: PETITION: VACATE ALLEY, BLK 2, O'KEEFE'S SECOND ADDITION: Mr..Zier submitted a -petition for the vacating of the north and south alley, Block 2, O'Keefe's Second .Addition. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Combs to refer to the City Engineer for recommendation. Motion carried. PURCHASES: STREET DEPARTMENT: Paint $100.43 WATER DEPARTMENT: Pipe fittings and valve boxes $199.30 CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Bull dozer rental $250.00 Motion made by Connell, seconded by Avery authorizing purchases. SIDEWALK, 10th & AINSWORTH, FRED HUBER: With reference to th& License application for Drive Inn Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop held up account sidewalk installation. City.Attorney to draw up an agree- ment for Mr. Huber to sign stating that he will install sidewalks when reaiuir�d to so do. 2 -9 PASCO, WASHINGTON EASEMENT: WASHINGTON STREET, OIL PIPE LINE: A request was read from the Port of Pasco, dated August 19, 1953 for an Easement down Washington Street from its intersection with the Northern Pacific Right-of- way across the Columbia to its ending at the U. S. Engineers General Depot. This was turned to the Water Committee. More time granted. INSTALLING OIL TANK, SOUTH 3rd BY PASCO AUTO COMPANY: Fire Chief and Building Inspector report OK to install 10,000 gallon tank under sidewalk as far as fire hazard is concerned. Request was granted, motion so made by Bonnett, seconded by Combs and carried. JAY ROBINSON,Jr., AGREEMENT: Agreement submitted by Mr. Robinson was read on Architectural services on City Office Building. Motion made by Avery, seconded by Connell accepting contract. Motion carried. Motion carried. WATER MAIN BREAK DAMAGE: Councilman Milne spoke relative to damages being cared for without suit. Mayor to contact Ed Ray, member of the Insurance Committee. EMERGENCY WARRANTS: This was discussed to complete the Sewage Disposal Plant Construction. State Auditor recommends this method to complete $100,000.00 loan.
