REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT.
TEMPORARY PERMIT FOR REPAIRS. (D. H. Williams)
Mr. Williams residing on the North Side of Court, near Chase, has a piece of
property 75 x 135 feet located on Ward Girnesey's ten (10) acres, this area is
not platted. Building Inspector has informed him that it will be necessary to
correct flue for safety reasons. Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Avery to
authorize Building Inspector to issue temporary Building Permit to make neces-
sary improvements for safety reasons. Motion carried._
INSURANCE C004ITTEE
Mr. Ray & Mr. Dillingham were present asking about boilers in operation=:by the
City at the Airport. They were informed that no boilers are operated at the
Airport by the City.
POWER POLE DAMAGE BY CITY F1IRE DEPARTMENT
A letter was read from Fire Chief Matthias to the Firemen's Fund by Mr. Ray.
Damage amounted to $101.61. City to pay $100.00 deductable. Voucher to be sent
to Firemen's Fund by Mr. Ray.

JANITOR SERVICE
A letter was read from Hanson Bros. Janitor Service stating prices for services,
Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Avery to file this communication as a Janitor
has been employed. Motion carried.

A letter from Matthias under date of July 24th was read, applying for position
of Janitor.
APPOINTMENT JANITOR - L. A. MATTHIAS
Mayor Custer stated at this time he has approved Matthias to succed G. W. Harrison
who resigned. Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Avery accepting appointment.

ARMY ENGINEERS McNARY PROJECT LANDS FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES.
!I Mayor Custer read a letter -from Merle E. Leitske, stating they would be repre-
sented at a meeting to be held August 6, 1953•
EAST SIDE PARK DEVELOPMENT
A letter was read from Pasco Water Follies'Inc. They are setting aside $500.00
for grass seed. Pasco Branch, Seattle First National Bank has endorsed to the
Pasco Water Follies, Inc. a check for $53.50 also to be used for grass seed for
Eastside Park. Mayor to write letter of thanks.
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT (PSH #3 - Lewis Street)
A letter was read from W. A. Bugge stating he had received Resolution No. 331
and was instructing T. P. Doyle to complete the.plans as soon as possible.
NAVAL RESERVE LEAVE ( 0. V. Cotton)
Mr. Cotton requests leave from August 17th to August 28th for training period.
Motion made by Bonnett seconded by Avery granting request. Motion carried.
TWO TON DUMP TRUCK Airport.
Mr. Cotton requests a call for bids on one 1948 or later model. Motion made by
Bonnett seconded by Craig to advertise'aa requested. Bids callable August 18, 1953•
Specifications furnished by Mr..Cotton. Motion carried.

Chairman Connell states the Treasurer should be advised to try to purchase that
same chair locally. Mayor to write to the Treasurer informing her again of pro-
cedure desired by the Council on purchases over $25.00.

A letter from Weter, Roberts & Shefelman dated May 12, 1953'and attached reso-
lution was brougtt before the Council by Avery and discussed, relative to a bond
issue of approximately $100,000.00 Final report from engineer making estimate
is expected before next regular meeting. These figures are°necessary in com-
pleting the Resolution.' Motion made by Avery seconded by Bonnett to write let-
ter or contact Cornell about figures. Motion carried.
AIRPORT LEASE (Army Engineers)
Motion made by Craig seconded by Bonnett authorizing lease on a portion of
Building 72 at the Pasco Municipal Airport as recommended by the Airport Commi-
ttee. Motion carried.
BUILDING COMMITTEE:
The Building Committee.will submit a report on the City Hall in the near future.
WATER COMMITTEE
Penalties and so forth by Ordinance amendment will be ready for next meeting.
SEWAGE, DISPOSAL PLANT SUPERINTENDENT
The,application by Arthur J. Reisdorlf was considered for the position of Dis-
posal Plant Superintendent as recommeded by the City Engineer. Salary would be
$425.00 per month starting 16-einber� 1, 1953. He would be expected to hire
his help locally. Motion made b§'§very seconded by Bonnett approving the appoint-
ment of Mr. A. J. Reisdorlf. Motion carried. Mayor to write a letter.

ABANDONED PROPERTY °
Other than in Police possession needs to be taken care of. City Attorney to
draw up Ordinance.
VACATION PAY: °
Vacation and sick leave Ordinance discussed in regard to vacation. pay for Lyle
Cooney for his part time position as Building Inspector;: He is also full
time regular employee of the Fire Department. Salary as Building Inspector
is $200.00 per month effective July 1, 1953• Motion made by Bonnett that
Building Inspector be paid $100.00 and Matthias who did this work during his
vacation, be paid $100.00 thus the Inspector is paying his substitute.
Motion withdrawn. City Attorney to study Ordinance No. 535 and render an
opinion.
