SPECIAL MEETING
CALL TO ORDER:
Meeting called to order at 8:15 P. M. Honorable Mayor John Beck presiding.
ROLL CALL:
By Clerk. Councilmen present, J. A. Avery, L. E. Bonnett, C. R. Combs, Raymond
` Hicks and T. G. Overlie. Absent S. A. Connell -and C. S. Milne also.City Attorney

TENTATIVE BUDGET 1952:
Public hearing advertised for this time was held. No protests were made.
ORDINANCE N0. 703:
Budget was introduced. Motion so made by Bonnett, seconded by Overlie and given
the first reading by department and item by item discussed?q-Carried without
dissent.
Fire Chief requests that a change in titles be made in his department. Motion
made by Bonnett, seconded by Combs that Assistant Fire Chief's Salar be set at
$3,900.00; Captain created at $3,720.00 and four regular firemen at 14,400.00.
Motion carried.
CITY ENGINEER'S DEPARTMENT:
Motion made by Bonnett that draftman's Salary be changed t o read City map Exp-
,ense. Motion seconded by Avery and carried.
,POUND MASTER'S activities were discussed. The Mayor appointed Combs, Overlie and
,Hicks on a uommittee to investigate and report.
,CURRENT EXPENSE RECEIPTS:
Motion made by Avery, seconded by Overlie to change "In Lieu of Taxes from Water
Department" to read "Water Department Office Rent, $5,625.00".
OCCUPATION TAX:
Motion made by Avery, seconded by Combs to change Occupation Tax by Ordinance
from 3/ to 32%. Motion carried.
,STREET DEPARTMENT:
Idotion made by Overlie., seconded by Bonnett to change Labor Salary from $1.422
per hour to $1.55 per hour. Motion carried.
PARKS:
Motion made by Hicks, seconded by Avery to cut Superintendent' -s 'Salary from
$4,620.00 to 4,260.00 per year, and that the Chief of Police -and Fire Chief be
raised to $4, 00.00 each per year. Motion carried u4animous.
Motion made by Hicks, seconded by Overlie that tax receipts in the Park Receipts
be changed from $22,103.16 to $21,743.16; add $360.00 to tax receipts in Current
Expense Receipts.. Motion carried.
Changing Fire Hydrant rentals was discussed; changing Ordinance was mentioned.
