A letter was read from Mrs. Sawyers requesting that the price of meals for prison-
ers be raised from 60� to .75�. Motion made by Grigg, seconded by Overlie to
turn this to the Police Committee and Chief of Police. Motioo carried.
MARIE STREET 42 FEET::
A letter was read from City Attorney Orville B. Olson advising that by proper
resolution February 7, 1951, the Board of.County Commissioners has dedicated to
the public for street purposes enough land from the south side of Block 7, Syl-
vester's Second Addition to make Marie Street a full 801 Street; same has been
recorded. Attached is a letter of legal discription of the property by Board
of County Commissioners, Franklin County, Yiashington

COUNCIL CHAMBERS
STREET MOTOR PATROL GRADER & CATERPILLAR MOTOR PATROL:
A letter was read from City Engineer George R. Fisher regarding the purchase of
the above memtioned equipment. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Grigg that
this be turned to the Street Committee for recommendation. Motion carried.
FILTRATION PLANT CHANGES:
A letter was read from City Engineer George R. Fisher recommending with Myron
Radelmiller several changes in the plant such as from sand to high speed filter
and anthracite coal, -crushed and screened to specifications anticipated cost for
complete change $7,500.U0. (2) a. It will also be necessary to make certain
changes in the plant itself. These changes are as follwws:(a) Enlarge the ex-
isting gate and outlet between the sand trap and flash mix. (b) Enlarge the gate
between the flash mix and mixing basin #1. (c) Enlarge the opening between mix-
ing basin #1 and mixing basin #2. (d) Cut in two gates between the settling basins
and the two East filters so that these filters may be fed direct from the settling
basins and the present piping system can be used to feed the two West filters dur-
ing periods of high demand. r'low can be controlled by the effluent value into the
clear well. The estimated cost of this portion would be $750.UO making a total
of $8,250.00.
Motion made by Hostetter, seconded by Grigg that. the City Engineer be authorized
to remodel water gates at filter plant: Motion carried by roll call vote of five
(5)• Motion made by Bonnett that the City Engineer be authori17ed to advertise
for anthracite coat for filter. Motion seconded by Overlie. Bid call for March
2019 1951. Motion carried.
ROY DILLINGHAM:
Requests by letter to participate in the insurance program of the City. Motion
made by Grigg, seconded by Hostetter that the Insurance Committee Chairman consur
with Roy Dillingham. Motion carried.
TANKERS PARKING IN RESIDENCE DISTRICTS:
A'letter and petition was read protesting against Tanks and Transport Trucks park-
ing in the area around the Memorial Park and Swimming Pool. They are a definite
fire hazard and disturb sleepers. The Fire and Police Chiefs are working on an
Ordinance to correct this action. They have ordinances from several other cities
and the Council favors waiting for this ordinance now in the making.
A letter was read from Mr. Hartman relative to location and joint service of the
Sewage Disposal Plant for the City and Engineers Supply Depot. Motion rftade by
Overlie that the Mayor be empowered to make a request for a.joint plant and loc-
ation with the Army Engineers. Seconded by Hicks. Mayor to inform Pollution
Control Board of action taken. Motion carried.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS: PRIMARY ELECTION FEBRUARY 13, 1951:•
Motion made by Overlie, seconded by Bonnett that the City Clerk be authorized to
count absent ballots. Motion carried.

NORTHERN PACIFIC PERMIT NO. 73175:,
Northern Pacific Railway Company Permit No. 73175 to the City of Pasco to con-
struct, operate and maintain a 201° line cast iron water main across the first
party's right-of-way, beneath the tracks and incline track.
