HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-12-1951 Minutes1775 PASCQ, WASHINGTON CALL TO ORDER-. Meeting called to order at 1:35 P. M. ROLL CALL: By Clerk. Councilmen present, L. E. Grigg, Raymond nicks, A. T. Hostetter, City Attorney Orville B. Olson. PARK BOARD BIDS ON POOL PAINT:. Honorable Mayor John Beck presiding. Bonnett, Bernard•R. Devereaux, Charles W. A. Nelson and T. G. Overlie, -also Bonnett favors throwing out all bids and re -advertising. Bids were reconsid- ered. Motion made by Nelson to accept the Park Board's recommendation to pur- chase paint and by products of the Interol Company, Inc. Motion seconded by Hicks and carried, by roll call vote of six (6). Bonnett voting "No". SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT SITE: (See Minutes June 5, 1951, Page 1800.) The Sewage Disposal Plant Site Committee handed in their report signed by two members to be read. -After expressing their reasoning on all three sites they recommended that the site east of the Northern Pacific tracks and North of Ains- worth Avenue be selected and that the City Attorney and City Engineer take immed- iate action to acquire this site No. 2. Motion made by Hicks, seconded by Overlie to accept this report (question debated) that is site No. 2. Motion lost 4 to 3. Grigg, Hicks & Overlie voting "Yes". Motion made by Bonnett that the City Engineer be instructed to proceed with pre- parations to build on Lots, also to accept Pacific Power and Light Company's offer of $900.00 for their property adjacent to the City lots in Block 40, Lots 4 to 9 inc., Riverside Addition. Motion seconded by Hostetter (question). Motion carried by roll call vote of five (5). Hicks and Overlie voting "No". Custer spoke of location between Railroad tracks, tax and fertilizer plant. Mr. Huber spoke of the importance of the Yacht location, plant not to be complete- ly treated.. Last meeting should have concluded discussions says Hicks. ARMY ENGINEER: Mention was made that some one should be appointed to negotiate with the Army Engineer's for needed locations. Motion made by Grigg, seconded by Bonnett that this be turned to the Building & Docks Committee. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 691: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND APPROPRIATING MONEY WITH WHICH TO MEET THE SAME AND TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE ORGANIZATION ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINT$NANCE OF A CIVIL DEFENSE ORGANIZATION FOR THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON Motion made by Overlie, seconded by Grigg that Ordinance No. 691 be given the second reading. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 691 was read. Motion made by Overlie, seconded by Devereaux that Ordinance No. 691 has been given the second reading. Motion carried. Motion made by Overlie, seconded by Grigg that Ordinance No. 691 be given the thiri reading. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 691 was read. Motion made by -Grigg, seconded by Overlie that Ordinalce No. 691 has been given the third reading. Motion carried. Motion made by Grigg, ,seconded by Overlie that Ordinance No. 691 be adopted, as read. Motion carried by roll call vote of six (6). Hostetter was out of the room.
