RESIGNATION: C. R. SHARP:
A letter was read from C. R. Sharp, MD; tendering his resignation•as Acting
Health Officer, effective September 30, 1950.
PETITION:, Alley between 9th & 10th, A & B,:

A petition was'read requesting that-the"alley between 9th & 10th, A & B be
resurfaced same -eras signed by eight property owners. This was turned to the
Street Superintendent, I. N. Brickey.
APPOINTMENTS: George•Wilhelm and J. M. Strauss, MD:
The Mayor appointed -George -Wilhelm to'succeed Earl Wattenburger on the Planning
Commission; term expiring April 71 1955. M6tion made by•Overlie, seconded by
Churchman that Application be confirmed. Motion carried.
The Mayor also appointed J. M. Strauss, Health Officer effective date, October
4,1950.

Motion made by Grigg, seconded by nelson that the fo7Lowing Business
approved by the Police Committee be issued. Motion carried.

Application for card table at 501 So. Oregon held up for recommendation from
the Chief of Police.
GARBAGE ORDINANCE CHANGES REQUESTED:
A letter was read from John Dietrich requestingamendments be allowed to Ord-
inance No, 670.' He desires to construct an incinerator at the approximate
cost o£ $40,000.00 therefore would like his contract to cover a period of 15
years instead of 5 and to raise the garbage collection rate .25� per month;
also the right to charge'a small fee for individuals hauling their own gar-
bage to the present dump.
Ordinance No. 670 was reviewed by the City Attorney. Motion made by Grigg,
seconded by Overlie that a Public Hearing be held on November 8, 1950 at
8:00 P. TAS Motion carried. City Attorney to set up notice.
Mr. Motdell of the State health Department spoke on garbage systema favored
incineration above others.
RENDING OF ORDIh;ANCES:
0-RDINANCE NO. 680:
.AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND PRESCRIBING THE WIDTH OF STREETS
TO BE ESTABLISHED WITHIN THE CITY OF PASCO, AND AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING STREET AND ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS TO BE CONSTRUCTED
BY ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN THE CITY OF PASCO, AND RE-
PEALING ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
Motion made by Grigg, seconded"by Bonnett that Ordinance,No. 680 be amended
to include sidewalks and curbs. Motion carried. Motion made by Grigg,
seconded by Bonnett that Ordinance No. 680 be given.the first reading. -
Motion carried. Ordinance No. 680 was read. Motion made by Bonnett,
seconded by Nelson that Ordinance No. 680 has been given the first reading.
Motion carried. Following a discussion motion was made by Nelson that
Ordinance No. 680 be turned to the Planning Commission. Seconded by Church-
man and carried.
REPORTS:
POLICE COMMITTEE:
The Police Committee recominends that the Chief of Police take out one meter
on"the east side of the Bank for deposit service also that he place five min-
ute'signs on all meters on Third Avenue side of Post Office, effective twenty-
four hours per day. Removal of one meter at drive way back of Post Office.
Motion made by'Grigg, seconded by Overlie that the recommendation be accepted.
Motion carried.
RED HEAD METERS:
Merchants in the vicinity of 4th & Lewis would like to have the red head
meters restored to the original color. Mayor to take this up with the high-
way Department for traffic count.
Columbia to be make a through Street with stop signs at arterials. Signs
ordered and should be here in the near future.
BUDGET 1951:
POLICE DEPARTMENT: Glen Sickels spoke in behalf of a salary raise for that
department. Iden leaving the department account insufficient salary.
PARKS:
EXTRA LABOR & CARETAKER:
Motion made by Churchman that the salary of Extra Labor be reduced $600.00
to 23100.00; Caretaker be increased $600.00 to $3,600.00. Motion seconded
by 1 elson and carried.
MAINTENANCE & OPERATION (Retaining wall, curbs & painting pool)
Motion made by Nelson, seconded'by Churchman to increase maintenance & oper-
ation from 0.'500.00 to $10,500.00. Motion carried.
RECEIPTS:
Motion made by Bonnett that cash on hand be increased from $1,700.00 to
$2,700.00. Motion seconded by Churchman and carried.
