ROLL CALL: By Clerk. Councilmen present, L. E. Bonnett, C. S. Churchman, Raymond Hicks, A. T. Hostetter and T. G. Overlie. Charles Grigg and Walter Nelson were absent. City Attorney 0. B. Olson was present. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE. EAST SIDE STREETS (Grading): Mr. John Perry spoke for property owners in Acre Park Addition on the Last aide. Requests that streets be graded and surfaced between Lewis and Helena; Sycamore and Cedar. Motion made by Bennett that the street department bring in a report at the next meeting.;. ,Idiotion died for. want of a second. I;Iotion made by Over- lie that Radelmiller be given authority to survey and Brickey authority to grade, seconded by Hicks. Motion carried by roll call vote of four (4). Hostetter not voting. OILING ALLEY IN BLOCK 8, GERRY t S ADDITION: Andy 1,Ionica again requests that alley in Block £3, Gerry's tiddit ion be oiled, account heavy traffic.. This was turned to the Street Committee for recommend- ation. MOTEL APARTMENTS, 4th ' Yakima: A letter was .read from Peabody and Company, Inc. stating that they had been held up account F. H. A. being at a stand still and. is asking for an extension of at least 60 days in order to get every thing; ready for construction. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Overlie that time be extended 60 days. Motion carried. City Clerk to write letter to Peabody and Grigg. YERIDIAX ADDITION PLAT: I. I. Grigg presented a plat for discussion in connection with a request by him for water extension to Blocks 1, 2 and 3, Meridian Addition. He is not interested in-service to Lots fronting on Sylvester. I4inutes of meeting held 11iarch 21, 1950 covering action taken on requeut of Mrs. Colt for water service to this addition. No action taken. In lieu of front footacre payment on lots frontirig Sylvester, Iur. Grigg asked if $1.50 per foot would be accepted for lots across the street to the north of Meridian Addition. Motion made by Bonnett that water be extended to street one block north of Sylvester between 1`Ieridian and Chase and to second street north of Sylvester between Meridian and Chase and to the third block north of Sylvester between Meridian and Chase upon front footage payment in advance of $1.50 per foot on both sides of these three streets in I'oleridian Addition and adjacent on the north upon submitting a plat conforr,iing to Meridian Addition. Motion seconded by Churchman and carried by roll call vote of five (5). TRAFFIC SIGNS EAST SIDE ( W. B. Norris): Mr. Norris requested the installation of speeding; and traffic regulation si.gls on the east side south of Lewis Street in the vicinity of Main and Oregon. I.Ir. Garrard suggested that 'Sylvester be considered for traffic control signs too. City Clerk to write Chief of Police for a check and recommendation. EX-COTIVICTS REGISTRATION: Mr. Norris also suggested that a City Ordinance be enacted requiring the ex- con- victs in the area to register. This was turned to the Police Committee_ and* Chief for recommendation. DAY LIGHT SAVING TIME: Ed Clarey of the Cental Labor council, Mr. Skeels with Atkinson 8. Jones, and Hr. Phillips of the General Electric spoke in behalf of day light saving time stating essential reasons for same. PETITION: A petition with 150 s_gnatures was read petitioning to stay on standard time. The Mayor suggested a Coiiunittee of Bonnett, IIicks and Overlie meet with Labor. and. Business Representatives also the Kennewick Council. Motion made by Overlie seconded by Hicks that the City of Pasco remain on standard time. clerk unable to catch oral vote. The.I.Iayor asked for Roll Call then Overlie withdrew the motion, Nickel with the second. A letter was read from the Chamber of Coiilmerce containing a resolution passed bJ, the Retail Merchants Committee that the City take immediate steps to clean and sweep the streets daily. This was turned to the atreet Committee. SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT SITE: A letter was read from John L"i. Cunningham & Associates with blue print and description of track to be acquired from the Corps of Engineers for proposed sewage treatment plant, stating when final description is approved by the Army negotiations will proceed for transfer to the City. A discussion followed regarding near by property owners, law suits, etc. This was turned to the. water committee and superinterident to check and report. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Hostetter to adjourn. Motion withdrawn. CARD TABLE ORDINAL?CE: A group of ousiness men present interested in operating card tables.
