RE1.10VING HOUSING UNITS: Mayor Beck states he .received a letter from the lousing Authority, relative to removing 16 to 40 no -bed room units in the Riverside Housing Project. Motion made by Hostetter, seconded by Overlie that this be turned to the Building Comm- ittee for study and report. Motion carried. Mayor has letter. I',Iotion carried. APPOINTME11T (Observation) Ed Broughton: A letter was read from I'Iayor John Beck appointing; Ed. Broughton as supervisor of Air and Ground Observation as requested by Governor Langlie and the Department of Highways. POPCORN WAGON (Billie Tov�me) A letter was -read from Wendell Brown Agency relative to fire hazard existing in front of Dr. Warren H. Orr's Building located at 108-112 North 4th, account of continued parking of a commercial vehicle at the curb. The Thriftway Drug Store location was discussed, suggested by Bonnett that Bill Towne pay off in advance at re-ular meter rate to JanuarIT 1, 1951 then find a location off the City Streets turn to Police Committee) and obtaining consent of F. Connor. Bonnett made this as a motion which died fort he want of a second. Motion made by bonnett that Bill Towne be allowed to park in front of Thtiftway Dug to January 1, 1950 at the regular meter rate, with written consent of Francis Connor and business owners on each side of the Thriftway. h;Zotion carried. PAINT WATER TANK (East Side Tank): A letter was read from Myron Radelmiller, Vlater Manager, requesting permission to call for bids to clean, repair and repaint the East side 400,000 gallon Water Tank to conform to C. A. A. requirements. Motion made by Grig , seconded by Hostetter to call for bids, April 4, 1950. Motion carried. Specifications to be furnished by Water Tanager. REFUND, Loless Small: A refund is requested by Loless Small for 5;5.00 paid on Business License applic- ation.-.­_:Lo.cat_ion was ,refused...by property owner at 204 So. Main Street. Motion made by Grigg, seconded by Hicks accepting the proposal. Motion carried by roll call vote of five (5). METER ADD ASSOCIATION: A letter was read that Ihhe Association desires to demonstrate the eye -level advertising. FOOT PATROL: Committee The Police/recommend that the police Department establish a foot patrol between 3rd & Tacoma; Lewis and Clark between the hours of 7:00 P'. M. and 3=00 A. M. Motion so made by Bonnett, seconded by Hostetter. Motion carried. Chief of Police and Civil Service to be so notified. EAST SIDE I:IODERN HOMES: A letter was referred to whereby the Modern Homes desires to turn property on the Last Side to the City for Street purposes. Motion made by Bonnett, seconded by Hicks recommending that the Street Committee accept the proposal. City -Attorney to answer the letter. NIXON & AURELIA STREETS: William Kirchner's corner of the intersection should be widened. Water Than - ager to make survey and confer with Kirchner on a deal to so do. Motion so made by Overlie, seconded by Hostetter and carried. 9TH STREET CROSSING: Street Committae:= -to contact Harry Custer and clear this up with the Northern Pacific Railroad. 166 REGULAR IrIEETING . PASCO , WASHI11GTON COUNCIL CHAP;iBERS MARCH 7, 1950 LICENSE APPLICATION - 4 ADDI`T'IONAL CABS: Harold Baker of the Reliable Cab Company presented an application for four (4) additional Cabs account two (2) not adequate. Motion made by Overlie, seconded by Hostetter that this be turned to the Police Committee to make recommendation at next regular meeting. Motion carried.. TWIN CITY TIN SHOP - Mr. Erickson & Irlr. Haylett: Spoke to the Council and presented data on The Thulman Flue to be used in not more than two story buildings. This is a metal flue recommended by the Research Committee, Pad.ific Coast Building Officials Conference. Painting flue extending from roof recommended. Motion made by Hostetter, seconded by Flicks allowing Mr. Haylett to pass favorably on this make of flue and additional makes as OKId by the Fire Underwriters and Building Code. Motion carried.
