M.Honorable Mayor Pro Tema Hostetter presiding. Roll CALL: By Clerk, Councilmen present were John Beck, Art Glasow, Jr., A. T. Hostetter, H. G. Lake T. G. Overlie. Chas. Grigg and C. W. Wallis were absent, also City Attorney D. W. Zent. CANVAS OF ABSENTEE BALLOTTS City Clerk states the absentee ballots have all returned and are ready to be opened and counted. Motion made by Overlie and seconded by Lake that the City Clerk be authorized to count the absentee ballots. Motion carried. ORDINANCE 646 A ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF MURRAY STREET AND AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE THEREOF. WHEREAS A PETIRION HAS HERETOFORE BEEN FILED AS PROVIDED BY LAW PETITIONING FOR THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF MURRAY STREET IN PASCO, FRANKLIN COUNTY, WASHINGTON, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: That portion of said Murray Street lying northerly of the north line of the East and West alley in Block 4, O'Keefe's Second Addition to Pasco, produced easterly of a straight linr between the most northerly corner of Lot 1, Sub -division of Block D. Pettitts Addition, and the northeast corner of said Block 4, O'Keefe's Second Addition: AND that portion of said Murray Street lying southerly of the south line of the east and west alley in said Block 4, produced easterly, and northerly of a straight line drawn between the southeast corner of said Block 4 and southwest corner of said Lot 1. AND WHEREAS Notices were posted as provided by law, and a public hear- ing held on the question of said vacation, and no reason appearing why said portion of said street should not be vacated, NOW THEREFORE, etc. Motion made by Glasow, seconded by Overlie that said Ordinance 646 be given the firat reading. Motion made by Overlie, seconded by Glasow that Ordinance 646 has been given the second reading. Motion carried. RECREATIONAL DIRECTORS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL: Councilman Overlie spoke of the need of two directors at the High School Gym during the holidays for five days, six hours per day at a cost of $60.00 to the City per week. Motion made by Lake, seconded by Glasow that $60.00 be allowed for salary of leaders, six hours per day, five days.during the Christmas.; vacation, starting Monday, December 27, 1948. Motion carried by a roll call vote of f6ur (4). Hostetter voting NO BUSINESS LICENSES: A list of license applications and licenses received and not issued on account of wrong zoning, occupancy, Etc. List was read. Motion made by Lake, seconded by Glasow that being that the fee had been paid and the applicant had operated, to issue the license for the present year; corrections to be made starting January 1, 1949. Motion carried. ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Glasow, seconded by Overlie that the meeting recess to Thursday, Decembdr 30, 19487 1:30 P.M. Charles Grigg arrived jtst as the meeting closed; he and A.
